John Lewis is right
The 'conscious of Congress' faced a tough choice between loyalty and overwhelming change. He made the right decision.

I began writing this piece in the midst of the controversy over how U.S. Rep. John Lewis, Georgia's most gay-supportive Congress member, would cast his superdelegate vote. Now we know he will vote for Sen. Barack Obama despite endorsing Sen. Hillary Clinton last fall.

GAY AND TRANSGENDER activists should take a similar attitude toward Lewis's decision during last year's House vote on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. He voted in favor of the bill, which only covered sexual orientation, despite very heated opposition from transgender people, activists and allies who didn't want the legislation to advance until there were enough votes to include gender identity as well.

Shouldn't that have been 'conscience of Congress?'  Since he's part of Congress I would automatically expect him to be aware (conscious) of Congress.
