Hi all -

This has been sort of a meteoric trip for me this transitioning!  I only figured myself out in June - but I WAS SURE! - and started HRT in October, and yesterday my endocrinologist increased both my estradiol and my Spironolactone prescriptions to therapeutic levels!  I am so excited and I got  physical  rush this morning - like I did the first few days on Estradiol!  This has been so fantastic!  I feel like I am bragging - I am just happy - but because I read many who are waiting to start HRT I do not want to make anyone sad or jealous - but with informed consent in the US I found they will move you along as long as there are no medical issues holding you back.

At first, in October, I thought being patient and slowing moving along with low hormone levels and androgen blockers also at low levels and thus slowing progress in my physical transition was right! However with a little taste of being myself after starting HRT,  I knew I had to move on as fast as I could, I was afraid if I did not I might miss out I have waited so many years already! So I changed my goals, and asked to move on with levels and my endocrinologist lovingly agreed - did I say she is THE BEST DOCTOR! She is!!

I am not a young person, and I was wondering what physical changes any of you FTM ladies who transitioned later in life actually gained?

I know my breasts are growing - I had my doc check them and definitely breast tissue forming! YAY!!  But like an A cup mostly because I am a big lady...if I were smaller it would be a B or maybe C cup!

I am wondering about body shape changes; anyone have fat distribution later in life?  I desperately need that to happen and also was wondering about softening of skin and reduction in hair growth on my arms, legs, and body?  Any other late bloomers have success with changes in those or other feminizing effects?

I really appreciate your sharing!  I wish all parts of transition were so definitive - either yes or no!  The mental side and social aspects are really a wild up and down ride - but I will leave that for another post!

Love and Hugs to you all!  Marcie

I started HRT in July and have found the physical changes very gradual.  Mental/emotional/sensory changes were much more noticeable and immediate.

My face is visually softening just a bit.  Current avatar photo was taken before HRT.  Skin is softer although I had a ton of laser and electrolysis completed before HRT, so some of that is from skin forming around fewer craters (follicles).  Breast growth is very slow but yes definitely there.
Assigned male at birth 1963.  Decided I wanted to be a girl in 1971.  Laser 2014-16, electrolysis 2015-17, HRT 7/2017, GCS 1/2018, VFS 3/2018, FFS 5/2018, Labiaplasty & BA 7/2018.
