1. When did you first realize or become aware that you were different? Or felt like a girl/boy/something inside?
I was 6. My older sister took dance lessons and she had all these really pretty costumes that I really wanted to wear, and sometimes I managed to sneak around and steal some and dress up when no one was looking. I was also really into the Batman movies back then and I loved Catwoman's costume and I wanted one of my own and I wanted to be her sidekick lol.
2. When did you realize or become terms with being trans/transgender/transsexual? When did you discover that word or identified with it or became aware of it?
This one is kind of hard to answer, I think around 13 is when I became aware of the actual terms and what they meant, for a while I thought every trans person was just really good at cross dressing, I had no idea that HRT was involved, this was around 1999/2000, I thought everything was done with surgery. Even when I found out about all that I still wasn't sure it was me, for years I thought I just had some sort of weird fetish but as time went by I realized that that wasn't the case. In 2013 I started looking at women differently, and that's when it really started hitting me that it wasn't just some fetish/fantasy, I really wanted to be one. The thoughts were intense for a little while and then they kinda calmed down but never really went away, then they came back pretty strong and once I got sober back in January of this year and by Feb I realized that I really have to transition. in early February I started coming out to some friends and from there there was no turning back
3. How long did it take before you actually started transitioning or doing consciously something about it?
back in February I started coming out to some friends and I came up with a plan. I wanted to lose a ton of weight first, so I focused on that and decided that I would try to get on hormones by September because that's usually when work slows down for me. I started seeing a therapist in March and then she approved me for hormones after about a month or so and then I started taking with a gender doctor and I set up a consultation with them in May and they approved me. by that time my weight loss was going so well that I decided to start HRT on my birthday in July
4. How long did it take to start hormones and/or surgeries or other type of physical transitioning?
I'm still not full time yet, and won't be for a while, but when I decided to transition in February it took me until July to actually get on HRT, but I probably could have started it back in May
