Isley is proving that you can have a successful female voice post-transition...

Actually this is their cis-female singer singing, not Isley.

Somehow some switch was flipped now my upper range is returning and increasing pretty rapidly.

I can almost fully sing "Theme from Mahogany" (Do you know where you're going to) as sung by Diana Ross. Well, sorta. It takes effort and sounds slightly strained, but upper range is increasing.

So yes, there is singing after VFS, and I'm stoked!

Oh, well that's great, but not as great as I thought it was!

Not true. The time period is between one week and one month depending on the surgeon. The surgeons unconditionally want you to start using your voice after one month to prevent any additional problems from extended none use of your voice. Even if your surgeon said you can speak after a week, you should allow for additional time because your voice might have swelling that prevent it from working or your voice might sound horrible at first. Full recovery can take 6 months to a year in some cases however some voice sound great in as little as a month.
