Heh, you're definitely not alone in this. My wife teases me about my penchant for high heels - when I'm out as Sarah in generally wearing heels in the 3"-4" range. I have a couple pairs of shoes that are lower, but for the most part higher is better.
For me it's a combination of factors. They definitely affect your stride, but that's only part if it. I think it started with when I was first really discovering the Sarah part of me, and wearing something so undeniably feminine - something that I couldn't help but notice and feel - acted as a trigger on my brain, a constant "you are being female" sensation. Between the way they hold your feet (even when sitting, there's no denying you're wearing heels), the way it affects your stride, the sound of walking - I love it. And to me it's one of those things that screams "feminine" - so it's one of my go to clothing items when I'm out as Sarah, because I feel that it helps compensate for the fact that I'm still physically Dave.
Although I have to laugh about the height thing. I'm 5'10", so in my heels I'm easily over 6', which is noticably tall for a woman. But as much as I could probably "blend in" more of I wore flats, I still end up wearing heels. What can I say, I'm a whore for shoes. [emoji3]
