I had to do some Xmas related thread,  ;)!

So, what kind of gifts people have given to you that have felt validating to you? Xmas, birthday - whatever!

Do you remember something special,  ;)? Or have you got many memorable presents someone gave to you?

What was the occasion? What did they give you? How did you feel? When was this? Early on in transitioning? After coming out? Much later on,  ;)?

---
One memorable comes to my mind: When my gf gave me silk boxers for birthday,  ;)! It made me feel awesome,  ;). And that was pretty early on.

Lip gloss.

It was awesome. It was from the first person I ever told, and someone I never appreciated as much as I should have. She was one of the most understanding people I've ever met. Someone who, when I told her, I was probably the most nervous I've ever been in my whole life. But she was amazing.

I'm not sure what the occasion was. I think it might have been my birthday. But I don't really keep track of those anymore. And she did send me chocolate on another occasion, even though she knows I can't stand the stuff, lol. But the lip gloss was such a thoughtful gift. I won't ever forget it. I still have some left, lol.

Ooh the boxers sound sexy  ;)

Last year my aunt happened to be visiting my nan close to my bday and we went to a local shopping centre for breakfast. She asked me what I'd like for my bday and I said I'm quite fem so absolutely love getting things from Lush. So she ended up buying me a few items  :)

And did you take a bubble bath with special someone after that,  ;)?

Christmas was a month away when I came out. That Christmas my dad gave me a really nice Christmas card that said " for my daughter ". Tyler gave me some beautiful boots lined with faux fur. They were really sharp. I still wear them. I assume a girl helped him pick them out but it was still very sweet of him.

A set of bangles from a guy who said he'd never call me anything but Mike.
Then he never called me anything but Devlyn.  :)

I was given a few just the other day from my BFF.
First was a beautiful chic shall that I absolutely love èe
Second was a wooden sign that simply reads "Find joy in the journey "

This was not a physical gift but the one that meant a lot to me came from my very macho brother. I had feared telling him more than anyone other than my kids. The first time he met Moni, he looked at me, said I looked  nice and gave me a big hug. Then we proceeded like nothing was different. Awesome. My very accepting middle brother did pretty well too. Right before my GCS he gave my a big hug and a kiss on my cheek. He would never do that to his brother, just his sister.  Acceptance is the best gift of all.

Not Christmas-related, because we don't make a big deal about Christmas, but for my first birthday after coming out, my wife got me a necklace with the nine planets (yes, they included Pluto) on it, the perfect gift for an astronomer girl.  On Valentine's Day, she got me a necklace with a heart on it.

The most amazing gift was from my 94-year-old mother-in-law.  The first time I visited her as Kathy, she gave me a very glittery gold necklace!

I guess people think that necklaces are my thing.  I won't say no to one, so maybe they are right.
To think that I had worried about how people would accept me!   :D

This year, I received something from my mother that I shall cherish. It's an 18 inch pearl necklace. It's not the expensive saltwater pearls. They are freshwater pearls, but I shall cherish it nonetheless.

I have seen my sister and mom really try to be supportive through gifts.  My mom gave me a black scarf that has faux diamonds in it.  I wear it now at work, I love it.  My sister gave me a coach purse.  I havent worn it out yet, it's a bit girly, but still love it.  My dad has not given anything feminine for me.  He's just accepting.

I've told them gifts aren't needed, only being accepted is enough.  Getting a card with my name on it means the most to me and always gets me teared up.

you know how far the universe extends outward? i think i go inside just as deep.

10/11/18 - out to the whole world.  100% friends and family support.
11/6/17 - came out to sister, best day of my life
9/5/17 - formal diagnosis and stopping DIY in favor if prescribed HRT
6/18/17 - decided to stop fighting the trans beast, back on DIY.
Too many ups and downs, DIY, purges of self inbetween dates.
Age 10 - suppression and denial began
Age 8 - knew I was different

My adopted dad gave me an Ed Brown .45 officers model for my Birthday with my name and new birthdate engraved under the grips. For Christmas this year he offered to cover my insurance co-pay for GCS and pay for the rest of my facial hair electrolysis. For Christmas yester day a friend gave me panties to wear post GCS and 4 hours of electrolysis... my gift to her of a 6 qt insta pot felt really inadequate. The best gift (selfish me) was getting my surgery date set on my consult visit on my birthday this past May.

Over the years, my wife has given me many wonderful and thoughtful things for Christmas, my b-day, and sometimes just because.  The best of course is her love, understanding, and support.

A few months after I came out, my mom gifted me a Louis Vuitton handbag. She said that if I'm going to live as a woman, she wanted me to look good. :)

My boyfriend got me my first Teddy Bear for Christmas of 2016. It plushy, looks purple and smells like light purple too! AKA, smells like lavender. As I was growing up my parents tried the whole steer me away from anything feminine. So I never got anything like it. I love it very much. When I'm super stressed and can't get a hold of my boyfriend, I hug and hold on to it. I've fallen asleep with it quite a few times before we moved in together this past fall.
