Knowing you were trans before anyone else did, how did you fight the urge not to put in your true name, when playing video games with friends

When gaming with friends i often want to put in Christy as my name but i put in my boy name, i only do that (play as Christy) when im gaming by myself
Whose that girll?

Well why fight it? I know you probably aren't out but, you can always create a new account with your real name on it. Then just play as yourself. This is the joy of the playing, but maybe make subtle hints to your friends as to who you are and slowly come out to them. This something very hard not to reveal or just shout it out. I came up with some girl names in games and my friends made fun of me then chilled about it.

I use "slaymetender" mainly because I suck at a LOT of games, so maybe someone would have pity on me and not kill me!  All my characters were still female and I still use that gaming handle. Not once did I use my true name.  It was reserved for forums or hookups.

you know how far the universe extends outward? i think i go inside just as deep.

10/11/18 - out to the whole world.  100% friends and family support.
11/6/17 - came out to sister, best day of my life
9/5/17 - formal diagnosis and stopping DIY in favor if prescribed HRT
6/18/17 - decided to stop fighting the trans beast, back on DIY.
Too many ups and downs, DIY, purges of self inbetween dates.
Age 10 - suppression and denial began
Age 8 - knew I was different
