HRT and alcohol tolerance

I've always liked drinking and I would usually drink until I blacked out (not smart but I was young and uncontrollable). Well lately I've noticed that there's a moment when I just can't drink anymore, alcohol starts tasting worse and I'm pretty much over it and I'm not even drunk just with a light buzz. I have no idea where this change came from, I would usually be able to drink non stop until I was unconscious. This is actually a welcome change cuz I hated being like that, I couldn't control myself. All I can think of is that this has something to do with HRT, my T being super low, either that or it's just the fact that I'm turning 30 and my body can't take it anymore lol. Any similar experiences?

I stopped drinking compulsively too. I mean not that I was overly out of hand  but now I'll go weeks easily with a drink. I don't really even think about it. I don't like the taste and anything added makes it too sweet with liquor. It's kinda gross to me now. Wine is good though

I've never been able to drink much alcohol, way before hrt. I find the taste intensifies to the point I can't drink anymore. No idea why.

It could be maturity.   ;D  I drank to excess when I was in the air force, until one day I realized that it just wasn't fun any more.  I stopped.  These days, one glass of wine is enough, and two is my absolute limit.

That was nearly 40 years ago, so it wasn't HRT-related.

I don't drink often but, what I do, lol! No I don't drink dos equis, hehehehehe. I have have found my tolerance drop with the hrt. I could drink a few beers and nothing really now after one or two I start to feel a buzz. So yes your tolerance does change. I don't know if it's just the e or because some of us experience a weight loss with the hrt. Mine could be both. I did loose a lot of weight and would like to loose more. Maybe now that the holidays are over!!!!

Charlie Nicki -

I would agree with you that during the first few months on HRT one glass of wine would give me a buzz.  Now after 14 months I'm not affected as much.  I rarely drink harder than wine but last night on NYE I had two pretty strong mixed drinks and a glass of wine - I was feeling little pain but still very much in control.  I'm a big scaredy-cat of the morning hang-over so I switched to water.  I could have kept going but a girl's got to watch her figure you know.

P.S.  I hope your NYE was fun anyway.

Myself I have not noticed a difference in the amount of alcohol that I can consume before feeling it. I never drank often but when I did drink I can drink a lot.
