Hello everyone! I made an amazing meal yesterday so I came here to brag lol. BBQ is one of my favorite foods, and I especially love brisket, and it just so happens to be one of the hardest meats to smoke. I haven't done one in over a year and it's probably going to be a long time until I can do another one unfortunately, so I'm glad that it came out really good! The smoke ring is gorgeous and the flavor was great, it was smokey but not too smokey and it didn't have that pot-roast taste that I try to avoid in bbq. It could have been a little better but I've honestly had a lot worse at restaurants! I also made jalapeno cheddar drop biscuits, baked beans, and some amazing mac n cheese! Oh and I threw some sausages on the smoker too. I got home at 1:30 sunday morning and woke up at 6 to start the grill in 0 degree weather, yikes! totally worth it though!

oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I made a chipotle coffee bbq sauce, yum!

That looks and sounds amazing! Smoking is one method of cooking I've never done. Can you smoke stuff on a regular grill or do they make special grills for smoking?

Thank you, ladies!

Julia, I have a special grill for smoking. I love mine but you can smoke on pretty much any grill but it would be a little more difficult on some setups. Any charcoal grill should be able to work, you just have to set it up for indirect heat. Gas grills would be tricky but not impossible, smoking meats requires low temperatures over longer cook times so with gas you might be wasting a lot of fuel. The easiest thing to start with would probably be chicken, smoked chicken is great and has a shorter cook time than most pork or beef, I especially love smoked wings! I like to make a lot of different sauces, so wings are a perfect vessel for that

That brisket really does looks so good Maddie. Like Julia I have done ant smoking myself. For BBQ I like indirect baking potatoes then adding more charcoal to get it nice and hot for the steaks. Now charcoal grills are outlawed in the apartment complex. Mine rusted out anyway so I bought a cheap table top propane one. It works sort of....
