Hi all,

So along with starting Hormone treatment yesterday for MtF transition, I also have a very big job interview lined up for 10 days time  :) hopefully 2018 will actually be a year I can look back upon as a happy one.

My question is though, what sort of emotional changes should I expect?. My doc says everyone is different but I would like other peoples experiences so I know what to maybe expect for the first few months as my fear of doing some outrageous balling my eyes out for no reason in a potentially new job position does not sound fun :p .

Also I am not out yet and not planning on it till probably 6 months down the line, or sooner who knows what changes will occur in the coming months.

You are right, YMMV!

If you are on a 14 day cycle on injections, you MAY feel emotional days 12 & 13.

My experience is the emotional train (crying uncontrollably) didn't kick in for a few (2-3) months then eventually died out (14 months).

The it right joy, for me started 3 days into Spiro alone.  Placebo? Not sure but others report the same.

The voices go away.

Here's wishing you a happy and prosperous year!  :)

Your first emotional checkpoint may be when you realize that your breasts are indeed growing.

My emotions have stayed pretty stable all in all. Thank heavens for that, because teen angst looks horrible on a 56 year old!

I noticed the biggest changes after I had to stop taking estrogen, after about a week I got cranky and greasy.

Hugs, Devlyn

Hi Natashia,

I'm Laurie, Welcome to Susan's and wishes for a great new year. I didn't know a big change in calmness or voices going away. There was some I suppose. I did notice after a short while it was easier for tears to come but I didn't have sobbing periods either probably because I still fight crying though I do more of it now. Mostly silent tears running down my cheeks when I get emotional about something. Which I definitely do more of. if I remember my boobs get tender about 6 weeks in when they began to grow.

Hugs,
   Laurie
