I believe the dosage is substantially below what you need to grow breasts.  It's also not a very good idea to self medicate.  Does your wife know you have thought about doing this?  I would suspect she would notice if she's still taking them.

Have you considered seeing a gender therapist to discuss why you would want to do this?  There's nothing wrong with wanting breasts but you might want to talk with someone first.

CRM this is self medicating as I am sure you know and is wholly dangerous and inadvisable. Whereas they contain certain hormones, you would need the opinion of a medical professional to ascertain their effect. I therefore can not advise other than caution against going further with this line of thought.

Not only that but the testosterone on you system will eat it for lunch.  In short, probably not.

I have a bunch of t-male friends and they only take testosterone.  No E blockers.

T is so powerful it obliterates the estragon.  (This is a quote from my Dr.). That's why he starts his patients on Spiro a month or two before the E.

Birth control pills aren't a good source of e for transition. Read up on the web. Also they contain extras you don't really need. Its better to keep it simple, go to the doctor and get the right stuff.

Birth control pills are a bad source of estrogen. In older birth control pills, the estrogen used has a higher risk of DVTs so these pills are becoming less common.  In modern pills, the estrogen content is minimal and they tend to be Progesterone based which for the most part lacks the ability to feminize. You should seek out proper medical care because even with the safer estrogens, there can be a risk of DVTs and liver issues. A doctor can check for these conditions and ensure your transition will be a safe one.

The amount of estrogen in today's birth control pills is so low as to be negligible  in counteracting your own Testosterone production.

You need a T blocker and a healthy dose of bio-identical Estradiol if you want to transition. Go see a doctor for a proper prescription.

If you took them accidentally (?) for a time or two, then no effects.

I don't think so. You would have to block your own testosterone before it would have much of an affect I imagine. Even then the dosage of birth control pills is only enough to maintain a woman's natural E levels to get the desired effect of birth control, not to give the body the full amount of E it required in the first place. Birth 'control' is another thing entirely to HRT.

If you really want to grow breasts, I recommend getting an endocrinologist to prescribe some estradiol and AA.  They'll monitor you closely to mitigate health risks, and ensure success.  Anything claiming it can do that for you without risks is lying, I'm not just parroting what's normally said here, I've done my own research, I had to wade through enough sources of non-credible information to know that the level of misinformation is extremely high with this, studies are few and far between so the number of sources that could be authenticated simply by checking up on any quoted studies were very sparse, I had to learn a bit about the endocrine system.

In the process, I found a lot of products that claimed to work, some really would work... For a while... And then they'd stop working, and you'd just be left with NO hormones, which is a really bad condition.  Some worked, but only in extremely high doses that were not tested for safety, and could easily cause high blood pressure, and other problems, and of course, 90% of the rest were all snake oil.  Some claiming they could feminize your body with 0 risks to health/sexual function (impossible, there will always be risks, the methods where you use a doctor, the doctor just mitigates those risks for you)

What's confusing is taking a course that inconsistently uses terminology between the -ga/ta and -bi/pi terms and then even sometimes defining the -ga/tas as powers of 1000 and other times as powers of 1024. How am I supposed to tell you the size of a disk platter if you don't know how to clearly specify standards of measurement between SI and IEC, mr. professor man. *Ahem.* Sorry, back to breasts.

Your testicals will shrink your penis will shrink your skin will get softer your hair will get softer and body hair will not grow as fast. It may stop totally your shape will change. If you want that you can go two ways. You can find out the proper dosage on line for Spironolactone and Estradiol and you can buy the tablets on line. But I still would talk to a doctor you probably will have to go throw therapy before getting the hormone injections. I am thinking about ordering the hormones and starting them myself who know how long I will have to weight going throw a doctor. At least my body will be transforming I would keep using them until my doctor started to give them to me I want to start ordering hormones when I get back to work. But I also know I have to lose a lot of weight to fit is a small waste dress so I have some work to do Alison.

Waiting would be smarter. The doc will do some baseline checks first. There are some risks associated with HRT and you only have one life. If you aren't a doctor how do you know what dosage is safe? It can affect your liver, and in certain cases increase your chances of heart problems, and blood clots. You can work on hair removal etc while you wait for the process. That takes a long time by itself.

Just saying, better to be smart and safe than sorry.

i was taking "microgynon 30" for about 1 month thanks to some sympathetic girl friends who provided me with them whilst i was awaiting HRT prescription. i did my research and knowing that it was only for a short period, <excuse the pun> i decided that the risks wouldn't be too high.. and hey, i was desperate and anyone who has been on the NHS pathway will tell you its a LONG wait!! i'm now on Spiro and Estradiol.. lets just say my blood results after a month of taking the birth control pills were very much the same.. so in essence i wouldn't recommend this as a method of HRT.. i will however say that the placebo effect of knowing i was getting that tiny minuscule bit of estrogen was a great uplift for me at quite a distressing time.   
Go to a doctor and get the right Meds

Kelly is correct, see your physician.  I think that those who posted that T counteracts E are right, so any E you get will likely be less effective unless T is low or can be reduced to low.  See your physician for proper medicines and tests.

Your profile doesn't say where you're from so this information may be useless to you.  But, if you're in the US, you can get an MD to prescribe the HRT on your own consent.  You shouldn't start on your own because to be safe you need to be monitors every so many months.
