Local ordinance would mirror state protection

"The Code of Iowa was changed last March to include gender identity and sexual orientation as protected classes," said Tori Christie, a member of the Council Bluffs Civil Rights Commission. "Until then, if you were discriminated based on gender identity or sexual orientation, your recourses would have been limited."
