What will happen to my hips?

I don't know why but I am worried about buying pants/slacks, and summer shorts after time on HRT.
I have been on HRT for almost 6 weeks now and have no change in the waist or hip that I notice.
After about a year I expect (and hope) things will change in that region.
Will I need to buy women's or will I still be able to wear men's jeans.
How do I equate a man's size to a woman's sizing?

Hips and waist seem to be about the slowest to change. Losing weight early will help. It's hard to get rid of belly fat after HRT. Set yourself in for the long haul. HRT can take 5 to 7 years to complete.

As to converting men's sizes to women's sizes, you don't really. Women's sizes are inconsistent from manufacturer to manufacturer. They can be cut differently because women's clothes aren't baggy like men's. Also there's no correlation between women's waists and women's butts.

You have to pick things out and try them on. This is a feature, not a bug. [emoji6]

Dee,
Thanks for affirming that weight loss is important - I have been working hard on that.

Thank you for the conversion lesson.
Learning a lot and it looks like I have plenty of time to research.
I am sure I will need help from my wife when this is necessary.

but it bugs me
Faith you don't like shopping? [emoji6]

I have a love/hate relationship with it myself.

AJ, my wife has been a lot of help as well.

Actually, I love clothes shopping with my wife .. I hate the guess work. Carry 20+ slacks into the fitting room, keep 1 or 2. All I ask is just a little more consistency in sizing :P  I'm very conservative shopping right now. Not going through HRT (yet) and still losing weight, I can't buy too many that may become unwearable.

This topic caught my eye since I also have no idea what my hips and butt will do.

Given a bit of time fat will move down from the belly to the hips and butt. It makes it a bit challenging to find non baggy men's jeans that fit, but I pretty much only buy women's clothes now anyway. As for sizes? Its a lottery. One brand's 18 is  another brand's 16. Very annoying. As a rule 2-3xl in a women's size seems to match xl in men's.

I'm down to my last two pairs 501's.  All my other male pants no longer fit.  Too long and too big.  Go figure.  I thought what would happen is my butt wouldn't fit!  My butt has gained an inch since starting E, but don't think it's noticeable.  My lower legs have thinned, actually to a a nice shape.  Is it my perception that they are thinner or are my thighs getting larger?  Unfortunately that is one stat I have not kept a record of.

OMG this is my 666th post!🧟‍♀️

Even the same brand can be a different size despite being labeled as the same size.  My wife and I went shopping for shoes at Academy Sports. She was looking at shorts for work.  She grabbed two pairs that were the same size and cut but a different color.  After she tried them on she showed me how one size was smaller in the waist by over an inch.

She does hate how I can eyeball a piece of clothing and know if it will fit me the first time or not.

When I started buying women's pants back in December, all I had memory of was a pair of 18s my late wife had given me.  In Men's I wear a 42 so I tried to research and came up with 22's.  I bought a couple of 22's that have no belt hoops - just elastic and they're too big.  I went to 20's and they're fine, both looped and unlooped though it was weird only having 5 loops (not counting the double loop in back). Then I got brave and purchase 18's and they fit and were flattering except for one pair which I have to lay on my back to zip up.  Go figure.

I haven't worn man pants or undies all year :)

At 6'4" it's the length. And luckily Penny's have talls. I wear 18 tall which has an inseam of 34" some women's pants have length to 37" Places I have checked into for fashion wear. Venus  Very Sexy  Talls, JC Penney, ASOS, Alloy, Long Tall Sally, Torrid. Cheap clothing at Old Navy in tall.  Poor quality but?  Tall's usually are 2" longer.  For shoes I order from Shoes of Prey, They are custom made to size 15. They are high quality shoes. I have not been too satisfied with shoes from Long Tall Sally. I tried to cram my feet into size 13's from Payless but that didn't work.
You are doomed to have the same hips you always had as bone does not expand. You may lose a layer of fat that repositions in your buttocks. After a year and a half on HRT it is getting harder to shoe horn my beautiful butt into man pants. Now, if it only stops there.

There was a time when I was 5' 10" tall but some growth fairy stole 3" from me and I'm now a little over 5' 7".  If this keeps happening I'll be a dwarf in no time :(

But you will be tall enough for the "Game of Thrones" redo.

Worse! At old navy I bought two pairs of EXACTLY THE SAME jeans. One fit perfectly (the one I tried on), the other was tight in the leg. Both exactly the same size, model, color etc. I'm guessing different textile maybe or lot.
