I'm 28 and transmasculine. I haven't start T yet and am not sure about it yet. I considered it 2 years ago and started living as a girl again. The thing is I'm a demi boy (feminine). I want an androgynous body and to still wear some women's clothes, makeup and jewelry. I live in a conservative area and am trying to become a dance major in college. I will at least get top surgery done. The college is mostly a female college with a few male students. I know its easier to get in as a female. What I want to know is if its worth it to come out after I'm established in college or later on? I was out with close friends and family earlier and then stopped presenting as male again.

If you have your heart set on an androgenous appearance but want to present female at times I would recommend against taking testosterone.  It's a powerful drug that will make it tough to present feminine (think facial hair).

Top surgery will obviously help with the neutral appearance.

I'm definitely going to hold off on the T because by the time I get it I want to be able to afford laser hair removal and remove all body and facial hair. My final goal is to look like a feminine man and sometimes wear female things. It shouldn't be that hard to not get too masculine, because my face is very feminine to begin with. I know people who have taken T for 6 months and then quit and look androgynous.

 Hi. I can't help much on your question, but wanted to say I long for a similar presentation and appearance. I am on T. I went on for 3 months and came off again and have gone back on. I lost almost all my masculine gains coming off except a few thigh hairs. I am actually looking forward to facial hair, because even though I plan to shave it, it will still say femboi rather than butch female when I present andro.

For very personal reasons I wish I'd come out a lot sooner, but these have a lot to do with my families unique reactions. And while I wish I had, I didn't have the strength or stability to do so.

I think you have to have been on it a certain amount of time so the effects don't reverse themselves.

It depends on the effects. Once a hair reaches terminal it will stay thick and dark. Once you get an Adam's apple it will not return to smaller. Once your voice deepens  it will not revert.

However, fat distribution and muscle  tone will revert.

Since I wasn't on long enough for my Adam's apple to change or voice to drop noticeably, most of what I lost were my strength gains and fat distribution. I went from being sir'd pretty regularly and being questioned when I walked towards a women's restroom to bring always ma'amd and never being able to wear fem  clothes again.

It also has a lot to do with me being 5'2 and married to a cismale.
