In my ongoing attempt to build driving experience to get to the point I can make it to somewhere to actually do laser, I had a milestone today and despite insane anxiety survived super dangerous causeway bridge for the first time. I feel like I am a huge step closer to where I need to be, and I have a lot of hope I will be able to start treatment before my birthday in a few weeks.

(For those unaware this seems weird to, I didn't have a license until last month and I have a massive phobia of cars.)

If I was at work I'd photoshop a sign on a bridge saying 'Super Dangerous Causeway Bridge'. Since I'm not, I'll just let you imagine it.
Oh, and yay for you!

after working outside all week in temperatures below 25 degrees it finally warmed up and got into the 40s! Yesterday I made an awesome meal on my smoker and today I finally got to go back to the park! There's a park here that I love and I was there almost every day from April to mid-December last year but I stopped going because of the cold, I really miss that place! and to top it off I had a friend go with me and I had a great time talking with her! After that I went and explored a cemetery that I've been meaning to check out

I have made huge leaps in my life just since dealing with being trans, all in the name of doing what I need to do for transitioning(which also goes to reassure me of my choice, because you don't change your life the way I have for a lark ;D). I have everyone here largely to thank for that. :)

Makeup station in my new room [emoji4] it's also a desk and I'm sure I'll be using it for my laptop or even throwing clothes on top of it when I'm more settled in lol I always do that

I'd say that it needs to have some pastels but I figure it will be larger :)

So, I mentioned somewhere on the site that since taking the HRT people seem to be different.

Well, I went to have my lab work done this morning at the VA and the waiting room was full with the exception of one seat after I took my number.  There was a woman sitting next to an empty seat so I politely asked if the seat next to her was being used.  She replied her husband was using it but he likes to walk around instead of sitting and that I was welcome to use it.

Next thing I know we're talking about stuff and it's more female stuff than male stuff.  I was as I usually am, in man mode basically but maybe I smell differently because we kept on a talk'n.  It was nice too.

So many posts I read here make me happy.  Accomplishments as our lives improve in ways small and large, in almost all cases requiring careful decisions and a lot of effort.  After a while things become routine and we may reach for more - but never forget how far you have already traveled.
Assigned male at birth 1963.  Decided I wanted to be a girl in 1971.  Laser 2014-16, electrolysis 2015-17, HRT 7/2017, GCS 1/2018, VFS 3/2018, FFS 5/2018, Labiaplasty & BA 7/2018.

I agree with you Kendra. Y'all are an inspiration!

I haven't posted on here for awhile. I have been in a funk lately. Today I am feeling happy because I am finally getting back to my mandolin. It is so nice to make 'music' again, at least attempting to! I tend to like fiddle tunes and some that I have given a go to over the last week are 'Red Haired Boy', 'Arkansas Traveler', 'Ashoken Farewell', 'Hollow Poplar', ' Maple Sugar', and 'Red Wing'. I get lost in playing even though it is slower than it should be. I am still getting back to reading music and getting my fingers and brain to work together. Also, I need to build up my calluses.

I waited in line at the post office today.  Then when I got to the front I realized I didn't have the address of the package I needed to send.  I waited at the packing station till I received it through email.  During the wait three people came over to help me.  It was like they thought I was in crisis or something.  The first two were men and gendered me as male.  The last one was a grandmother and called me sweetie and told me not to be afraid to go to the counter.  I don't know why but I love this:)

you know how far the universe extends outward? i think i go inside just as deep.

10/11/18 - out to the whole world.  100% friends and family support.
11/6/17 - came out to sister, best day of my life
9/5/17 - formal diagnosis and stopping DIY in favor if prescribed HRT
6/18/17 - decided to stop fighting the trans beast, back on DIY.
Too many ups and downs, DIY, purges of self inbetween dates.
Age 10 - suppression and denial began
Age 8 - knew I was different

I almost chickened out, but at a physical today I asked my doctor if she'd write me the SSA letter (to change gender) and sign the DMV form to change gender.  She didn't even hesitate - I have the DMV form in front of me, with "female" checked, and should get the SSA letter within a few days.  I'll be filing my name change very shortly, so pretty soon I'll legally be the person I know I already am.

I could use some advice from the expert transwomen here who want to help this baby transwoman out: How the heck do I contain my joy when stuff like this happens?  :)

I filed my petition for a legal name change!

Yay!!! I'm getting ready to do that myself! Just got an official letter from my doctor for the gender marker change, too!

ToriJo, I'm certainly not an expert but if you think the joy of having these forms in your hands feels great (because it does), nothing compares to holding your updated driver license in your hands.  I wanted to tape it to my forehead and run wildly through the streets.
