Hi I am kind of new to letting people know about my personal life. I am a 36 year old arborist. I love all the beautiful things in life. I have a wife and a daughter. Who are my whole world. I love to cook and try new things.

When I found out that it is alright to be yourself when it comes to your gender identification(my wife kind of helps me with these things.) I felt a bit relived. It is still hard to let everyone know for me. My wife and fully supports me. My mom has to know but I have not totally came out to her. As for my dad well ::). Being in an industry where you have to be a "Man" when you are a male makes it really hard to be myself.

When it comes to transitioning i have changed little things in my diet. I can not foresee myself getting any surgeries and hrt is kind of an option but we will see. I have known that my brain was not very masculine from a very young age. Not quite sure when it was though. I remember going swimming at a lake when i was around 10. I was soaked and my dad did not want us sitting in his friends truck all wet. and told us to get in our underwear for the ride home. Problem was I was in a pair of my moms... My friend and I talked our dads into letting us ride in the bed of the truck. I was so relieved. When I was hanging out with my wife one day before we started dating I told her my secret. She said it was ok to be what you are and no one can judge you for that.

Anyway I have to start getting ready for work talk to you all later!!! ;D

Hi Violet 🙋‍♀️  Welcome to Susan's!  It great that you have your wife's support.  I think she loves you very much!

Hello Violet, welcome to Susan's!

That's quite a story from your childhood.  I can imagine the fear and then the relief of not being discovered.  I actually made my own clothes when I explored in my early teen years, but then I allowed social constraints to take over and stopped for several decades.

Your wife is amazing.  Her response is the way things really should be but unfortunately very rare in the real world.  Be who you truly are.  And don't feel pressure on the details - you should set the pace based on what is best for you in the long run.  I sequenced some decisions to avoid feeling overwhelmed - initially one or two steps at a time - very glad now glad I handled things that way.  When you are ready for additional decisions, you will know.

Really great to see you here!  All the best,

Kendra
