Suits and ties would always give me major panic attacks. I didn't even wear a suit to my mother's funeral. Which sort of makes sense now that I think about it.

For me, it always depended on what I was doing.  Yard work, house chores, etc. in either mode was a work t-shirt and jeans or shorts that were on their last legs.  Casual mode was always that either way - casual.  And camping mode the same...except my hiking boots have a little pink on them now instead of blue.  LOL  For work, I always wore scrubs until I got on the "suit" side of things.  Then it was a suit and tie.  Now it's a dress and jacket.  Occasionally I'll do the "pant suit" thing for work but I really don't like that look on me.  There are a few dress styles that maximize what shape I have so I tend to go with those.  I don't overdo my dress/look.  I tend to go with what is work-appropriate, comfortable and not "over the top".  i.e I really try to blend in these days.

I've only worn a suit and tie once in my life. My mom made me wear it to a wedding when I was 14. It was AWFUL! I totally hated every second of it.

I've only worn a suit and tie twice in my life. Both times I was forced into it by someone else. Never again!

When I was 6 my grandma had given me this stupid Christmas suit for Christmas.  She told me she couldn't wait to see it on me and that it would make me look like a " little man".  I didn't want that so I put it in the fireplace. I got in SO much trouble! Not just for putting the hateful suit in the fireplace but also for opening the grate while there was a fire in there. My dad made me stay in my room until dinner was ready and made me apologize to my grandparents. My dad never spanked me or my brother but if he had I'm pretty sure he would have spanked me for that. Lol

I always feel like my clothes don't fit me right as a male. I much prefer the more feminine clothing.

Ah, suits are great, they haven't gone out of fashion in over a century, unlike a lot of other stuff. Female suits are great too. I think women look great in both men's and women's cut suits.

What annoys me about suits is trying to get a nice one that doesn't cost half the UK's GDP. I'm kind of a stickler for quality clothes. I don't own a ton of clothes, but I like them to be good and to feel good. This cheap suit I had once - a burlap sack would have felt more comfortable. Never again.

I ask because I have always been a guy slob but when I dress as a woman, I am sort of a fashionista. I hate suits and tie's. I hate matching outfits unless I am dressing as a woman.  As a guy I could care less about combing my hair. But as a woman it has to be perfect. As a guy I would never wear a necklace or rings or earrings. But as a woman I love them. As a guy, crud under the fingernails is standard. As a woman I would not get caught dead with messy nails. As a woman I am kind of OCD. As a guy I am kind of WTF. How about you.

See, I'm the exact same but opposite since I'm FTM*. I was a bit of a slob as a woman (probably in part due to the depression I experienced while living as a woman). I've always hated women's clothing and hated clothes shopping, never wore clothes that fit correctly, never wore makeup, dress shopping for my siblings' weddings gave me anxiety, I didn't care about keeping my hair neat when it was long (in fairness, it could not be tamed when it was long but I didn't care either way).

Since I've cut my hair short, I'm very meticulous about it being 'just so'. Shopping for my male wardrobe over the last couple of weeks has been a blast. Everything fits properly and is business casual or nicer. I've got dress shirts, ties and a dressy vest on the way--even though I almost never have a need to dress up. I'm thrilled that I get to go suit shopping for my friend's wedding in a couple of years and kind of wish she was getting married sooner!

I bet you will have a great time. I've had maybe five suits in my life. Each one being worn once. My problem is whether male or female clothing all my clothes have to be for talls, which make selection kind of limited.

yeah I'm kinda slobby in male mode lol. I've always been a t-shirt and jeans person, and then chuck taylors or boots for footwear. I grew up going to Punk shows so I'd have jackets covered in patches and pins sometimes but I've traded that in for a peacoat now. I'm still jeans and t-shirt but also flannel or sweater in the winter months. I've only worn a tux once and I've never worn a suit. I hate dressing up for weddings or whatever because I hate the way male dress clothes fit me, I'd much rather wear a nice dress

Oh my god yes! I had to go through a box of my old clothes a few months ago, for charity. I was a fashion disaster, word shirts and tv shirts and baggy jeans. I'm not exactly a fashion icon now, but I have a style and grown up clothes.

I had to wear a uniform up until the 8th grade. I hated it. I did learn how to tie a tie, but I think I would have preferred the girls uniforms. They had nice pleated kilt skirts in what I would guess was like a MacLeod of Harris tartan.
Since then I've hated wearing men's suits but people tell me I clean up well.

I never dress slobby, but I'm pretty much forced to dress male. I haven't come out to my parents and my dad just sees me as a drag queen. So, my only source of clothes I want is through donations and my boyfriend.

Yeah... so the only male clothes I own are sweats and a few t-shirts 2 pairs of jeans.... When dressing not so slobbish I have 2 suits but it is hard to wear them as I usually do not go to anything more then an applebees kind of atmosphere (usually for this I'm in women clothing anyway). As for work they supply us clothes so... I try to put stuff together some times. black slacks turtlenecks under a sweater of some sort, but if only it was cold year round ::).
