I am selling my house and will rent until I re purchase.
I'm stealth.
Name changed and gender marker changed with the Feds
So, will my credit report still show my male name.
If so I will be outed just for trying to rent, but a car or anything that requires a background check.

If the credit agencies haven't updated their records yet, you might not have any credit. You can check it out for free (and no spam) once a year at Anual Credit Report and if there is a problem, you will need to contact each agency and correct any errors in your records.

I bought a car 1 year after my name change (SS, DL, Passport, banks...) and everything came back in my new name.
2 years after, I bought another house and they found credit reports in my old name. Had to give a written explanation for the "alias" and produce the court order for my name change. So I guess it all depends on how deep they dig.

That's correct!!!! Even after you change everything the Alias (with your dead name) stays on there for up to 7 years after creditors stop reporting in your dead name. That's why it's important to get a detailed credit report and make sure all the creditors listed that are still reporting have your correct name.

When buying a car they are only looking at you FICO score and the recent payment history. With mortgages, they look at aliases, previous addresses, trends, etc and really go over it with a fine tooth comb.
