I have medicare due to a disability. They are paying for hormones and I know they pay for SRS. But do they cover anything in between? I don't have much body hair but I need my face and chest laser hair removed. Shaving every few days is too much especially my chest where there is nothing worse then hair on boobs. Even after you shave it only feels smooth for a day or two. I started the hormones yesterday; estradiol and spironolactone, and stopped taking test 3 months ago but it is still about double what it should be. My breasts have grown to B cups and I want to show them off. Grosses me out just thinking about it. My other body hair is very light blonde and almost unnoticeable but my chest and face are darker.

Place I looked into a place that charges 200 for face and 400 for chest but if there is any other way to pay for that would be a huge help.

Ask? My plan is through the state as a worker and it only Covers hormones. The university where I work would like it to cover everything, but because it's a red state, moving in that direction is slow. I had to go on the state benefits site and read the plan details. It was explicit: SRS isn't covered.  Medicare should have the same information available.

Medicare only covers HRT and SRS. No FFS, VFS, BA or hair removal. I don't think they even cover a tracheal shave.
Also, you're going to have a hard time finding anyone who will accept Medicare for SRS.

Thats good to know but thats what I'm finding things are covered but no one accepts it. It's like a work around for getting out of paying. I am local to john hopkins so maybe they can help.

Not so fast.  If you can get a good psych letter describing medical need you can in fact get FFS and BA covered under medicare.  A friend of mine did exactly this.

I have blue cross and what they cover from how i read it is:

M2F(F2M covers similarly but I can't recall preciecly):

SRS/GRS: 12 months HRT and Full time
Breast Augmentation: 12 months HRT and Full time
Counseling- they just cover this
Electrolysis Hair Removal required for SRS (maybe face??wording is vague), including anesthesia
HRT- blood work, pills, patch or injections

They might cover some facial feminization surgury, but I didn't recall seeing it and I'm really not interested in this or voice augmentation as I know my voice is perfectly fine and I'm pretty happy with my face atm and I would like to minimize the amount of time spent under the knife.
I refuse to let negativity define me, I've let enough of others define me for long enough, I'm going to be the person I set out to be even if that means I drag myself kicking and screaming over thresholds to become the most amazing version of me.
Cheesy? Maybe... but why should that stop me ;)

Do tell! I'm really good at working insurance if I know that it is possible. Were they over 65 or did they have disability medicare?

She's over 65.  Even if you're doing the disability thing it's worth a shot with a letter.

Depends on which plan your company buys.  Mine covers FFS, BA, pre-SRS hair removal, and SRS.

The bummer abou the hair removal is that for some idiotic reason it has to be done by a dermatologist and I've yet to find one that does electrolysis, mostly because it's a waste of their education.
