Hello

I wanted to see if anyone knew any tg experienced doctors for hrt in l.a. county? I am looking for one for a safe transition.  I recently qualified for Medical and also wanted to know if it will help me with hrt related costs.

It might help if it was a little clearer of where you are  Los Angeles County California ?

Hi Brie,

Yes, Los Angeles County. I can travel about the county so that is why I left it like that. Probably should have stated the full thing rather than shortened it :(.

There is always the Las Angeles LGBT center. They have multiple branches it seems. They also lost the insurance they accept on their site. I'm in Illinois, but they seem like the Howard Brown Health Center that we have in Chicago. So they would probably be an invaluable resource for you out there.

I recall going there years ago but i believe they did not have any help for me at the time. I don't recall the exact reason. Instead i went to bienestar and they did refer me to a doc. I might just go out visit again if that is the case. Unless. Someone suggest someone. Else.

I'm in Ventura County and go thru Kaiser insurance but I was looking at the website for the Los Angeles LGBT center and it does say that they do take Medi-cal  and some insurances, but it also says they do not turn anyone away for not having the ability to pay.  They provide counseling and HRT  according to the website

Might start there and see where that takes

Los Angeles County is huge.  Recommending a doctor in Marina Del Rey is not going to help you if you live in Lancaster or Pomona.  It would help if you could be more specific.  Also, by "Medical," do you mean Medi-Cal?

I don't know of any private endos who take Medi-cal but maybe someone else can help with that.

However you may be able to get on with Kaiser through Medi-cal.  I know at least one person who did that but I don't know how, so you will have to contact Kaiser.
