I went to a wonderful PA in Milwaukee today. Its in a dicey area but the experience was wonderful. Mark the PA walked me thru everything and set me up with my blood test to set my baseline.. He gave me a total check up including an eltrocardiogram.He set me up for blood work and a pharmacy close to my home and explained everything in great detail. He's starting me off on oral estrogen. I forgot to ask if the other drugs will also be oral. I was scared when I arrived there. He gave me a hug when I left.

I grew up in a small town in northern WI and always thought everywhere in Milwaukee was dicey growing up I still feel that when I get lost there. I see an endo at the big VA hospital there.  I hopefully will be going there for training soon to move on to estrogen injections. I was glad to read that you had a good experience with your PA. Starting out that way can make all the difference in the early days. It can take awhile before you are ready to advocate for yourself with the doctors. In the early days I did whatever they said. Now when I want to move in a different direction I go in with articles and other things that back up my ideas. He doesn't always agree but we are moving in a good direction.

Congratulations. It is a big milestone. As you have seen elsewhere in Susan's, several took photographs to help document the changes over time while on HRT I didn't do that and I wish I had. I like one where the person wore the same outfit. Either way. Congratulations and enjoy.
