Hey guys,

Im planning to  do forehead augmentation / browbone shaving next month in Thailand. The doctors commonly recommended bone dust for filling the hollow part of the forehead and its cheaper than the silicon implant.

Anyone of you have an idea which of the two is more long lasting and better? I've never been a fan if implants but I also want to make sure its permanent and wont cause issues in time.

Using bone dust is going to give a more natural result as the bone particles will be gradually replaced with your own living bone tissue. Where as, silicone is artificial and will never change to living tissue.

Thats what I thought as well. Im trying to figure out which of the two is better in the long run. But I have heard bone dust / cement can crack in the future. Although silicon implant is more expensive.

My FFS doctor said to avoid bone cement at all costs. The reason is that bone cement can interfere with the bone growing back together.

How deep is the hollow part of your forehead and can this be filled with a solid bone graft instead of done dust and cement?

The procedure he used on my brow is to remove the frontal bones and reshape them and replace with small screws to hold the bone in place. After 30 days, the bones grew back together. The screws are still in place and I could have them removed if I want to. Right now they cause no problems, so I just leave them there.
