Lately with HRT doing its thing and seeing an end in sight for hair removal (another 6 months I suspect at the current rate) I'm considering what the next step should be. Already moved to living full time, I plan on changing my passport to f when it expires in year.

More and more I feel the next step is some form of surgery. Full SRS is out of the question at present as I am in a country where its not only stupidly expensive, but the waiting list is years long. Orchie on the other hand is not only affordable, but it should be doable within the next year or so. The advantages being no more spiro, lower doses of e needed thus less risks, and less extra useless equipment downstairs, meaning I have more options in what I wear.

I've heard that the surgery itself it relatively simple and that recovery time is quite short. Any information from someone who has been there already would be appreciated!

Thanks.

krobinson103:  How long have you been on HRT?   If it has been only a short time IMHO it might be best to wait and see what develops with a little bit longer HRT...  I have been on HRT for almost 3 years and in this last year and a half I have seen the most improvement in facial features, body changes and hair thinning... but of course the results can be very much different for every person.  I am still on HRT which includes Spiro.  In the future I am considering bottom surgery but right now I am a little hesitant...  money, surgery risk, etc....  plus I pass 100% of the time for the last year and a half.... so I am thinking!!!!!

Thanks for the reply. The rules here state you have to live full time for two years and have three recommendations before you can, so that means I want to get my ducks in a row. Its been four months on hrt and another 3 transitioning in other ways before that, plus probably 3-6 years of low t before that. I don't have any hesitation. This is how I want to live regardless of the cost be it personal or career wise.

Full SRS might be nice, but I'd need to sell the house to have any chance of that. Not too concerned about the bits down there except they are useless, and they produce t which needs to be suppressed. In terms of function nothing has worked for years so I care not about that.

@ krobinson103:  Same here, my bits down below have not worked for 2+ years... no morning wood and no spontaneous erections and it is near impossible to even get a "soft" erection.  This last year of HRT my bits down below have actually reduced in size... I am very happy about all of this!!!

Read about that. They should cut away from the scrotum to avoid scarring etc. Not sure I care about GRS to be honest, be nice, but unless I win the lottery at some point very unlikely. As I get older that part of relationships means less to me anyway.
