Sonja

Hi I'm Sonja,
I live in the beautiful city of Auckland with my wife and young son. Self employed working in my own office allows me to 'dress' during working days and wear concealed clothing all other times. My wife bought me a fantastic collection of knickers and a cute nighty for xmas for which I adore her - for all the obvious reasons. I don't 'dress' in front of her BUT I would love to go on a special outing with her completely done up - ie makeup, hair etc. so I'm working on seeing if she would be comfortable with that, and looking for a good venue for a great night out - please let me know what you recommend in Auckland?
At this point I'm more CD than Trans and I spend most days thinking about how far I want to head down this path without sacrificing other parts of my life that are very important to me. Fingers crossed I don't get busted in this gorgeous little playsuit I've got on right now!

Would love to make some friends on here.

Hi Sonja 🙋‍♀️ Welcome to Susan's Place!  I'm Jessica, a transgender woman.  I think when you transition your body, your mind may also change in that it will allow yourself to do things you only dreamed of.  With me, I believe, I've kept who I am as a human, it was never contingent on what gender I presented as.  I am me.  I think if you go as far down that path that you want, you can still achieve your goals in life that matter.
I understand there are a few gals from Australia here.  Enjoy and learn.

I see your new here, so I'll post some links that may help you get better acquainted with the site.

Hi Girls,
Thank you for your warm welcome, appreciated!
Jessica - You're very insightful thank you for your advice, for me personally at this time I find the hardest part is knowing what I want but stressing about what it will cost me in  my life. During the day I actually notice how happy and relaxed I feel once I'm 'dressed' - it always puts a smile on my face. For quite a while I thought maybe this was just gender euphoria ( arousal from presenting as opposite sex )  but I shocked myself when I noticed that I wasn't actually trying to 'get off' in that state of dress - actually I was simply happier and more calm than 'normal'  while I was just tapping keys on my computer getting work done.

Cheers,

Sonja.

Thank you - that's very kind, I love your hair - such a cool style!  If you're ever planing on coming over to NZ let me know, I'll take you out and show you around BUT you have to bring some of that fantastic Belge chocolate with you!
( is that how you say it - Belge?? idk )

Hi, Sonja - and welcome to your new home away from home. If you're not careful, you could end up staying here all day instead of (ugh) working.

I, too, had a supportive wife and thought I was only CDing. Then came the realization that Susan was the real me and (deadname) was truly an imaginary being built upon what the world at that time thought a boy/man should be. I won't say the rest of my journey has been trouble and worry free but the real me has been able to thrive through the challenges.

Love who you are.

Susan

Thankyou Aspiringperson you're very kind and you have a fantastic smile!  I saw in your profile you live in Alaska! - that is awesome - it always looks so beautiful when I see a tv program filmed there.

Hi Susan, thank you for sharing that , I've always thought that its a kind and generous thing to tell people about your life, especially personal and meaningful things.  It does seem there are many people here that are walking their own path (which is great) instead of the one the world shuffles you down if you walk blindly.
Thank you - I hope you're having a great week.

Hi, Sonja.  Gender dysphoria never goes away, no matter what you do or what you try.  You are born with it - you do not get to pick and choose.  Fortunately, it sounds like you have a pretty level of support right where you need it.

You will know when the time comes to address it fully; it took me almost getting killed to finally take my steps forward.  In the meantime, take your time, talk to us; we come from all walks of life, diverse backgrounds, and even more diverse stories.  What works for one may not necessarily work for or be best for you.  That said, know that we all are here and do not be afraid to ask questions; remember that you are safe here.  TTYL

M

ps:  I LOVE Austrailia - have you ever watched the movie On The Beach (2000) or better yet, Wentworth?
