Oh, girls. Let me crow a little.

I am a beneficiary of a trust, established by my grandmother, under which I receive a monthly distribution based on the income the trust has received. The average benefit is around 500.00 each month – not enough to live on, but enough to make things a little easier than they might otherwise be.

My family is conservative – dare I say, *very* conservative. When my name was changed, in January, of necessity I notified the trustee, sending him a certifed copy of the court order changing my name. When I heard nothing back, I expected the worst. I sent him a follow-up email about a week later; again, I received no reply. So, after several days, I drafted a letter, sent it by certified mail, return receipt requested, and drafted it cordially, but in the style of an attorney. I know how; I *am * an attorney. :)

Guess what? Postal service tracking told me that the letter was delivered at noon on Tuesday; and, about 24 hours later, I got a phone call. I was addressed by the caller repeatedly as "Miss Ann," and assured that everything was on the up-and-up and that monthly distributions would continue as usual.

I'm so ... what's the word ... like the proverbial cat that swallowed the canary. "Miss Ann," indeed! LOL
