No official word about surgeries, but she was in the Tahoe at a ski resort when it happened. Last I heard, she is NOT paralyzed or anything like that, but it is a serious injury and she is going to be out of commission for a while. However, nothing is confirmed at this point other than what is on her Instagram post above.

A broken back may just be a chip in the backbone without damaging the spinal cord. It can hurt so bad that it takes narcotics to control the pain and recovery might take months. My roommate did this once by falling off a ladder and while her motion was limited for a while, she fully recovered.

Well sounds like the scrabble is on to find new doctors for those people. That is terrible for her too!!!!

There's a post yesterday in another forum from a patient who's scheduled with Dr Bowers this week. She's planning to restart surgery later this week and it sounds like the delays are small.

This post yesterday:  Dr. Marci Bowers hospitalized  Poster just says she was due to work on Jazz Jennings in June.  Ack, try saying that three times fast!  Prayers and get well soon, Doc!
