Hey Girls,

So i'm 1.5 months on HRT and growing strong! I'm still closeted at work and have a lot of things to figure out, clothing, makeup, voice etc... (ahhh anxiety :() But I've been ruminating about my height a bit.. I'm 177cm. I've been reading about pelvic tilt and how this may contribute to some height loss and give you that more feminine look in the hips. I think I'm fairly lucky that my hips are already wide (at least I think >.<).... but is pelvic tilt a thing that commonly happens for trans girls? Does it make sense to potentially affect height even if it's only by an inch?

If it helps I officially started HRT a week or so from my 25th birthday :)

Thanks for reading!!

I don't think you're gonna see a difference there. The hip sockets and the sacrum are more or less at the same height, so pelvic tilt, if it happens, is more likely to sculpt your lower back slightly differently rather than changing height. You're at an age where you might possibly see some hip widening but probably your bones are done growing.

Not speaking from HRT experience, but do know a fair bit about anatomy from yoga & massage therapy work.

180cm here and for my money the thing is to be yourself and walk tall!

Pelvic tilt, as far as I can tell is not so much something that happens but something you do.  Basically, good posture: suck in the gut and stick out the tits, and your pelvis tilts.  You kind of have to do it to walk in heels, too.

I didn't notice any pelvic tilt, so I don't know if it's a physical or a psychological manifestation (especially if one is well past the stage where bones stop growing), but you could develop some back problems if you try to force it.

Definitely not what I was looking to hear but thanks for the reality check. I can see good posture as a thing to strive for but sucking your gut in all day doesn't sound like a great idea. Maybe corseting would help there idk... Information about pretty much anything related to HRT is all over the place online  :(

Guess it's best to just wait and see, it just sucks if you can help something develop but don't because you didn't realize -.-

Just to clarify, pelvic tilt to me is what creates a pronounced s-curve along the low back that extends into the butt, is this what you're referring to? And I already have a flat stomach, so no gut to suck in; and D-cups, so no need to make an effort to push them out😊
