Kokoro

Hi everyone!

Those that have read my posts will know that I had my awakening moment 2 weeks ago while going to a salon in Tokyo. in two days time I will be going back for a 3 hour session (first was two hours). So, the point of this post is two-fold - one; to show off a few of the outfits I've already worn. And two; ask for for ideas as to what I could pick out for my upcoming visit.

Here are the pictures; (and for those wondering, I am pre-everything)

There is also my avatar image with the cat ears!

During the session I asked for 3 outfits: A first date dress, office wear and something 'fun'. The above images are the results and I was extremely happy with them, especially the office wear and maid outfit. This time I should have the chance to try on 5 or 6 outfits and I need some suggestions! They have hundreds of different clothing articles and all the accessories to go with them. They also have around a dozen wigs with different colours and do them up into almost any hairstyle. If you can think of it, they most likely have it. I know a lot of girls would kill for such a session like this so I thought I'd ask for your input since I've drawn a blank past the 1 or 2 ideas I've already considered.

Thanks!

Kokoro definitely 3 and 4 -  business wear! You need to look older (unlike most of us?) in the other pics it appears like your mother dressed you and would probably get picked up for grade school truancy!

You look American what color is your hair naturally? Mine is lighter with much graying and currently shorter than cartoon avatar pic. lol I'm working on the starving, more slender look (but, then again, if I do that I'll always be a flat chested 'A'?)
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!
"Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!"

Thanks for the comments everyone.

It was the skirt and blouse that made me start crying and realise who I really was. You can kinda see my expression of astonishment in the 1st pic and the 2nd was taken about 4 or 5 secs after when I was on the verge of tears.

I see what you mean with the 'picked up for grade school' look, especially in the 1st two images. The first outfit experience was all a bit strange and I guess this is part of the reason. That and with the brown hair (in another style I've not posted) I looked unsettlingly like my mother. The maid costume I knew what I was getting into (literally!). I'll try to aim for something a bit more sophisticated this time.

I'm actually British and 30 years old, if that gives you a better read. As for my hair colour, my natural colour is technically a really dark blonde, not as bright as in the 3rd and 4th pics, but still a touch lighter than the brown of the first two. Between the grey hairs coming through, short length and blonde highlights I keep putting in it's a little difficult to get a good colour read on my hair.

Kokoro - WOW! you look fantastic!!  I'm inspired!!

I do think your face lights up better with brown hair in the top pics, and I love both your first date dress and the office outfit. The playful dress is cute, but I think the white apron front interferes with the overall look. Your avatar pic looks really pretty and cute.

You could try a cute swing dress  - IE flared dancing dress. Oh a million ideas swimming through my head now...

God I would love to go to a place like that, but I would be in trouble cause I would want to try on ALL of their outfits!!!

Have fun!

Thank you for the kind words Sonja! I'm simply amazed at what a bit of make-up, wig and right fitting clothes can accomplish. And I hear you about wanting to try everything on! I went for 3 hours today and still wasn't anywhere long enough. Sadly 3 hours is about the limit my wallet can handle.  :(

I had my second session today and I took the advice you girls suggested and I am SO glad I did! I got to try on 3 outfits again (was going to be 4, but got carried away, see below) with minor changes to each one and I'm pleased to say I've eased into myself even more.

The first I got to try on was, well, a Japanese Girls High School Uniform... Hey, when in Rome! I'll refrain from posting that one unless someone requests it. However, that was by far the weakest of the 3.

Since I really liked the causal business wear last time I decided to have try a full skirt suit. I also opted for a long auburn hair style as per suggestions. All I can say is wowsers!  :o

And you're seeing the last two pictures right - I am outside! I have no idea what came over me but after seeing myself in the mirror I suddenly swelled with pride and confidence and asked if we could go outside the salon. It was only along the open-air corridor leading to apartments and the stair well, but it was a public place and any of the residents could have appeared at anytime and people on the street below could easily see me. I had no fear or anxiety whatsoever. I tried practicing my feminine walk in heels and learnt I need to focus on my shoulders and arms, but I'm rather good with the hip-sway and legs (thanks to the feedback of the girls at the salon).

The next is a variation of the above. The long hair was pinned up, scarf and earrings were added and it became 'welcome aboard the aircraft! Will it be coffee or tea madam?'

For the final outfit, I was allowed free reign of their collection. Essentially the entire outfit was picked out by me. And I'm very happy with what I put together if I do say so myself. The hair is also different and is a more solid brown shade than the other and curls at the bottom though it's hard to tell (there is also a headband too in the 2nd and 3rd pics). It's this look that so far aligns strongest with how I feel inside. I.E. My brain thinks I should look always look like this.

The final image is a small variation of the same outfit, but with a different top/cardigan and hairstyle.

Now, the million dollar question. Do I pass? The reason I ask is that next time I'm determined to go outside in public.  The ladies at the salon have already suggested we go to a local park and take some photos with cherry blossoms in the background since they're starting to flower here at the moment. If I cannot find anything appropriate or that I'm not comfortable with, the last outfit will be my fallback to go out in. I have zero fear or anxiety about doing so. I'm just so excited and cannot wait for next time!

Do you pass? Are you mad woman?!
I think 99% of cis women are jealous of how you look.

Kokoro - again I am gobsmacked. You look so pretty in those outfits!!
I really like all the new photos you posted, great choices, and the outfit you put together is awesome (including the hair band) which I personally would choose if you were going to pose outdoor with the cherry blossoms, But of course its up to you - and you're paying!! ( is it expensive? )

I am also really impressed with how pretty and feminine your face and body posturing is.
Passable? I would say you have gone to the third stage in these photos, the first stage is self acceptance, the second is passing and the third is looking Hot!!!
Also the Auburn and dark brown work really well for you imo.

I can't wait to see your next photos!  Just try not to go broke I can imagine it would be really addictive having so many options at your disposal.... lol

Take care,

Sonja.

You can see the salon name if you look carefully at the background. The web site quotes the price for a two hour session of 23,000 JPY (200 USD). A two hour excursion is 35,000 JPY and a full day 100000 JPY plus travel costs and such...

Oh yeah - thanks, I see that now, just did a search and found their website. checking out their prices and stuff - but I'm not in Japan, just curious!

Thanks again Sonja and Katie! My confidence and desire to go out has only gone from strength to strength. I cannot wait for next time!

Yea, it is pretty expensive but for me it's all worth it as each time I go I come out more resolute and determined to be myself.

Plus it won't last forever. I'm kinda making up for lost time. If I'd have known/had the courage about this place sooner I'd have probably spread my visits out to every couple of months. I have almost exactly a month left in Japan so I want to make the most of the little time left.
