Hi everyone.  So last night my grandma called and she was going on about an email my mom had sent all of us. I had received an email from her but I hadn't opened it. Nothing good comes in emails from my mom. So I opened it and there are pictures of my mom in a skimpy bathing suit on the beach. I also noticed her hair is blonde now. Her natural hair color is the same as Tyler's, honey blonde. But when I was around 12 she started dying it light brown. I suspect she did that to spite my dad because he likes blonde hair. Her hair isn't just blonde now its super blonde.  She's kissing and cuddling with this guy in the pictures. According to what she wrote in the email this guy is her boyfriend.  Ok, the guy is only 21 years old. That's a year younger than Tyler!  My grandma was just totally disgusted and said my mom had always been weird and an awful person. Lol. My dad just laughed and said he guessed he had been traded in for a younger model. True the guy is much younger but even so he still doesn't look as good as my dad. I have to give my dad credit. He spends a lot of time working out and lifting weights and he keeps himself in very good condition. If my mom was trying to make him jealous it didn't work. He totally didn't care. He just said if that's what she wants then ok. That's one thing I've never understood about my dad. My mom has said all kinds of awful things about him and told several lies about him. But no matter what my mom does, and she's done some awful things, he has never and doesn't ever bad mouth her or say bad things about her. All he ever says is that she has "issues" or that she has "problems" .  I really wish I could be more like him in that regard.

As for my feelings about this? I totally don't care. I stopped being shocked by stuff my mom does a long time ago. If she wants a boyfriend younger than her son then ok, whatever. My mom has done botox and acid peels since she turned 30. Despite our differences I will admit that she looks very good for being almost 40 years old. I'm not surprised she was able to get a 21 year old boyfriend. I absolutely don't care. But Tyler on the other hand got really upset over it. He said it was gross and creepy that my mom was hooking up with a guy younger than him. He thinks its totally gross and that my mom has gone crazy and turned into a sex offender. Unfortunately she did succeed in upsetting Tyler considerably. I told him not to let it bother him but he said he couldn't help it and that the fact his mom was messing around with a guy that young was just messed up.

This is an example of my mom's bizarre behavior. I can totally understand her sending my dad those pictures trying to make him jealous or whatever, but sending them to her mother in law and kids as well?  What kind of person would even do that!???

As an angry person most my life, I can attest that it is not worth the effort to hold on to anger.

The Higher Road!

I was never married to my son's mother and contact with them was off and on and usually as a result of detective work on my part.  However, regardless of what she did and how I felt about her, I never mentioned this to my son and never will.  Part of it is I don't want to get into a He Said - She Said but more importantly, and we really have to remember this, well most of us, is that there was love there at one time. 

Sadly, only the truly blessed or the really stupid are blessed with lifetime partnerships.

Ugh. Sorry to hear. Almost like a TMI (too much information) moment.

Also reminded me of the first time someone hit on me after starting transition: at the checkout of our local computer store, the sales clerk in his early 20's desperately wanted to know what I do with the rest of my afternoon... I did not even really notice what is going on and mentioned something about work and conference calls. Back in the car it totally hit me: I just got elevated to being a cougar and he hit on me.

Nothing I would ever go for. Especially not with kids half my age. And I still prefer women.

Now typing this up reminds me of one of the frequent hotels I stayed in during my first years of business travel. The Fantastico Inn. With a bar frequented by local cougars. Not a fun place to be on a Friday night as a guy in my mid 20's.

I mostly felt sorry for those women.

Well, there are plenty of milf hunters for cougars to hook up with. The whole idea of her having photos taken to send to y'all is slightly disturbing. She does not love him. She probably is unable of loving anyone but herself. Her narcissistic tendencies have shown that. I guess she thinks the photos are a good way to taunt and try to get revenge on y'all. The best thing y'all can do, is toss those photos in the circular file, pretend y'all never saw them, and go on with life.

My dad was a sperm donor.. sounds like your mom was an egg donor lol but worse since she's sending you things. My dad doesn't have my number let alone any of my emails or contact info

Julia, this sounds surprisingly like what one of my best friends went through.  His mother was always attractive and definitely kept herself in shape even after having two kids.  Even now, a bit over 60, she still look better than most women 20 years her junior.

Anyway after divorcing her husband (my friend's dad) not long after we all graduated high school, she started dating somebody who was two years older than her eldest child (my friend).  He was about 25, she was over 50.

To make it even more awkward, this guy she was dating is the older brother of her own daughter's ex-boyfriend!

To make a long, sordid tale short they ended up getting married and have been so for over a decade now but WOW what a talk show episode that would make.

There are times being a cougar does not work out.

A trans friend has this cis sister that had 3 kids by her husband. I'll call her "Starla". He got where he could not please her in bed as often as she wanted. Her father lost his wife, and remarried. Starla hooked up with her father's wife's grandson, and her hubby found out. He left, and filed for divorce. Starla married the kid, lost her house and had to move in with her father.
