Hi, I just tried to refill my Estradiol Valerate 20mg/mL prescription, apparently both CVS and ExpressScripts aren't able to order from manufacturers. Anyone one else having issues? This seems to happen 1x a year, ugh. Solutions? thx, Allie

well, I don't know, but in mexico it's not been sold for over 2 years, nobody has it, even the doctors prescribed me ethinyl estradiol instead

My doctor says there are ongoing manufacturing issues, other posters have said that isn't the case, so I'm not sure what the answer is or what's going on. Good luck.

I filled delestrogen 20mg over the weekend. Generic continued to be on backorder.

When the injectable becomes unobtainable, there are still other ways to get your Estradiol. Even though you may not prefer tablets or topical formulations, they are still safe and effective. These may be all that is available for now. You can always return to injectable when it becomes available again.

Quoting myself Feb 15
Quotethis month CVS hasn't yet been able to fill it - 3 days late right now.

So I contacted Perrigo, maker of the generic and indeed the rep I talked to said the 40 mg/ml version went into backorder in late January and will be back into availability by early March.

Late last week my endo put in a second pre-approval  prescription for  brand name delestrogen 40mg/ml which as if 2 weeks ago CVS was able to obtain (I didn't care to pay $300+ out of pocket as I still have enough in hand).

I just called Perrigo and now their agent told me a status of "temporarily discontinued", which she said means they intend to put it back into production and presently don't have an estimated date.

She offered to get back to me with any more information they could provide and so I hope to be hearing on that sometime this week.

Just verified that the prior authorization has been approved and CVS has it in stock for me.

Perrigo did contact me just an hour later.

What she said was an estimated release date will be June or July (both 40&20 mg concentration) and that that's not certain at this point in time.

So it's anyone's guess whether delestrogen will stay in supply until Perrigo manages to get the generic back into their shipping pipeline.

I don't consider other delivery methods acceptable. When I was on a higher dose my liver blood work showed a few problems, I'm thinking oral application would really be a problem. Sure if I couldn't afford it due to lack of insurance, that would be a factor.

that's awesome info! I hadn't run into this issue because i had 3 viols of 20mg/mL, endo reduced my dosage so it lasted 6 months but now I'm running out. I guess I'll do sublingual orals til generic comes back.

They ordered the name brand one for me thinking I could use GoodRx as a big discount bringing it to like 60 bucks. But she wrong me up and said 200 plus I said " no thanks". And she said well this goodrx work with the generic. So now I'm on backorder. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Hopefully it gets back in stock before my two already delestrogen is used (I always fill my syringes and throw the bottles away )

Ugh I hate  ... the lil blue pills.

Routine routine routine I love the dial packs leave them laying around everywhere! One in bathroom one in car but not work vehicle pop single in shirt pocket instead!
5 drops iodine with AM coffee and Progesto cream does wonders for my two dry legs.
Oh yeah and can't forget fluoride free nano silver toothpaste is all the rave!

**UPDATE**
CVS came up with a 20mg/mL 5ml viol! Not sure what happened after being told it was back ordered, not available and no time frame. I'm guessing they found some stock in another pharmacy? So I have enough for a couple months, hopefully the generic supplier will be able to provide meds soon!

yes, hate the little blue pills too!

If you have insurance, see if you can switch to the name-brand. It is not in short supply.

Estradiol cypionate never seems to have any supply issues.. You will need a dose/frequency adjustment from EV, but it works equally as well.
This is not medical advice. Always consult your doctor.

I n Feb the generic delestrogen 5 ml was not available. But was able to get name brand. A couple days ago I got a message from CVS saying they put in a special order for the generic brand of delestrogen which is a bit cheaper at 16.00 and brand name is 28.00. Thankfully I have insurance. I am also thankful that I didn't have any reactions from the name brand. The manufacturers say they are the same but that is not always the case.
