This may seem dumb, but I was getting to the point that a heavy gaming laptop just wasn't in the cards for me any more.  I retired my older and still awesome Alienware laptop to be used as my desktop or when I really need to do content creation.  One thing I loved about it was the lights were programmed to be purple.  I vowed that whatever I get next it had to have that too.  So I'm now setting up a Razer Blade Stealth.  The first thing I did was change the keyboard to be purple, maybe slightly pinkish.  Anyway, because of the size and color I feel it's gender affirming and it feels awesome using it.  The Alienware feels awesome because it's so powerful.  This one, it's okay if it's slower, it makes me smile and feel girly.

Do others have this dumb feeling too?  Btw, I mostly game using pinball or on ps4.  My laptops are for content creation pretty much exclusively.

Not so much laptop, I'm not giving up my Asus lightshow for anything. But I do wonder about my car...

I would totally put cute baby Cthulhu stickers on this one. The ones I'm describing are personal machines.  My work laptop is now 3.5 years old and almost due for a refresh.  It's so boring looking.  Good idea to sticker it up and it will be a fun time to go sticker shopping.  I'm thinking Princess sticker from G Force.  That is affirming to me:)

I totally get it. Right now I have a 15" MacBook Pro for work (I do need the CPU power since I usually run multiple VM's on it).

It does not fit into any decent purse or tote bag and I have started to hate it. I would much prefer a much smaller and more feminine laptop at this point (e.g. a Air or a 13"). Unfortunately earliest, I am due for a new work laptop is next year.  I think the new ones have 4 core on the smaller models, so I should be good for power.

So, yes, my laptop is giving me some dysphoria.

I am going to a conference in April and I am very tempted to get a smaller laptop until then. Or a larger tote bag.

See, my partner choose her laptop on the basis of GPU and the fact it's purple. Though I suspect more to do with the colour.

I on the other hand have a nice weighty 17" HP Omen gaming laptop. I've always been a fan of the heavier ones, and my keyboard is set to a nice deep red, as it obviously helps my playing.  I do however find it set to pink quite often, as I'm told I need something to make it seem more girly.

Nothing wrong with what looks like a large black slab carved from some infernal world with an ominous red glow, as far as I'm concerned. ^_^

I have never been super into gender specific tech stuff, but I always set my keyboard to lavender which does feel gender affirming as well and I agree with stickers! The online stucker scene is bonkers right now so you can definitely find something to your taste.

So, I finally broke down... I also found that there are additional shells I can get to re-color my laptop and I did invest in a smaller form factor, more portable laptop and added a dark red cover. Also bought a decent women's briefcase for it. The sales guy in the shop thought he would be to be extra nice to that pretty lady and told me another store has the same laptop for $250 less. He printed out their web site and talked to his manager about a price match. So glad I did not go directly to the Apple store... yeah, I played the girls card a little bit.

Ready for my next business trip!
