On Friday night I went to The Bottom Line nightclub and had a good  time. I left a little later than I had expected, so when I pulled into Port Charlotte, I was feeling a little tired. I had wanted to check my P.O. Box, so as I pulled into the post office, I glanced in my rear view mirror and I saw some flashing lights.

As I started to get out from my truck, a voice told me to stay in my vehicle. A police officer came over and asked where I was coming from. I told him. He asked if I had had anything to drink, and I told him only Coke. He still did a breath test on me. He then asked to see my driver's license, and I told him it was in my truck, and I overheard him ask if it was in my purse, so I shrugged and said. "Yes."

After he was finished shuggested that I should drive with my window down and then he told me that it was nice meeting me, which I thought was a little strange.  Overall, I was glad that he didn't give me a ticket. :)

Why did he harass you to begin with?  Were you speeding?  Weaving?

???

I wasn't speeding, but I was just weaving a bit. Fortunately at two o'clock in the morning there wasn't anybody on the road.

Gina,

I'm glad you only had a warning and were sober!  THe air rushing in is a help at keeping you awake.  I've had to do that a few times when I was coming back after a late night / early morning at the school's photocopier.

Thanks Chaunte,

I'm really glad that I was sober, but then again I know the dangers of driving drunk! Fortunately I've never had a DUI though. But thanks to the advice of the officer, the next time I leave the Bottom Line that late, I'll definately will have my windows open with a nice cross breeze blowing through.  ;D

Gina,

Wow it's neat to know there are people near me who are working through the same issues as myself.  I live in Fort Myers and have still yet to go out to the Bottom Line, I am not sure how I should dress, how people will react to me.
