Hello!

I'm currently insured under CareFirst BlueCrossBlueShield, Federal Employee Program.  I'm wondering if anyone has experience with CF BCBS FEP, and if anyone knows whether or not they cover GRS?  Specifically GRS with Dr. Sherman Leis?  If so, could someone elaborate on their experiences with them and how they approached them?

Any information and tips on navigating insurance would be greatly appreciated though.

Cheers!

I have Federal Employees BS/BC. They paid for the Endocrinologist, lab work, prescriptions and counselling if your therapist accepts BS/BC. They did not pay for surgery, not the surgeon or the hospital. My surgery was in 2016.

The list of procedures covered change almost annually, so take a look at the current list of benefits.

Above all else, get pre-approval before surgery. It is impossible to get reimbursed after the fact. All insurance companies are good at denying and deferring payment without pre-approval.
