An unintentional exclusion and apology

I want to apologize to the Non-binary community on this site, I just noticed that non-binary was not included in the standard terms and definitions list. I have fixed it but want to give the Non-binary community a chance to raise any issues with the definition I have created, since I am not someone who personally identifies as non-binary.

This is the proposed definition

Susan, as you've used Non-binary and Genderqueer in the same definition, and as I too don't identify with either of these, can I extend on your original enquiry and also ask if there is a practical difference between the two, or just preference?

I've been asked this question myself and haven't been able to answer.

Minor typo = .... gender identity us not ....

Should be = .... gender identity is not ....

My guess is some non-binary people may have issues with the use of the word queer to identify their Gender identity, and prefer non-binary, as it removes any possible connotations of their Gender Identity with Sexual Identity, which are two different things totally.

To include gender fluid transgender people, I might add the highlighted. I can identify as either gender exclusively or a combination of the two. This isn't really NB though. Where do I fit? Do I fit?

The non-binary community has used several terms to describe how they feel. Gender Fluid is what I have heard most often and to be perfectly honest, just a few years ago I was totally unaware of people who identify as such.

I feel no need to apologize for my ignorance as I am always open to new understandings of how we describe ourselves.

After reading how NB is described. I don't feel it represents Gender fluid. Non binary does not explain how I can feel like a woman, since it doesn't include the far ends of the spectrum, only the mix of both.
So yes, I'm still questioning do I belong here.
Gender Fluid transgendered people don't seem to be given a place to be who they are. I get the impression sometimes that we are marginalized by those who feel we aren't valid.

It does happen sometimes. The same arguments that are used against transgender people are directed at the non-binary and genderfluid segment of the community. Quite frankly, when someone is blinded by their own hypocrisy I pay them no nevermind.

From the description of this board, "A place for those who identify as any non-binary identity." So if you don't identify as strictly male, or strictly female this is a place for you. That includes Genderfluid.

I agree that the either is necessary because presentation and how we feel can differ. By doing so you are also now taking into account those who are bi-gender too.
