I have an autistic child and am very involved with the autism community.  While filling out a registration form for an event, my wife used an "F" for my gender for the first time without even thinking about it.

It's not anything big but having her choose the gender that represents me correctly feels pretty cool. It's a big step and it wasn't even intended that way.

Do you recall the first time your significant other gendered you correctly on a form? Did it make you feel warm and cozy inside?

Not on a form yet but in an email to my family. I seriously cried over it I was so touched. For the longest time she refused to use Sarah and she...

Ooooohhhohohoooo.

I see what you did there with the title  >:-)

That's cool though, so congrats on that. I can't say I had that happen to me from any significant other simply because, well, I don't have any significant other.

We've been been together for 26 years.  She's not too happy about my transition but we're both trying hard to make it work.  I guess that's why this is such a big thing.

On a form?  No, I don't recall.  Most forms are online these days and she wouldn't typically show it to me.

But, in general, she has been flawless about my name and gender right from day one.  And she refers to me as her wife.  A girl couldn't ask for better.

Where I do get a little thrill is when we walk into a restaurant or a store and the staff say "Hello, ladies".

Well that's great to hear that she's trying instead of instantly leaving like I hear stories about. Hope it all goes well in the end!

I know how you feel. It is a wonderful feeling i must admit. Last night my wife put makeup on my face for the first time ever to color match me, and she also asked me if I had picked out a name yet. She now has promised to teach me how to do my own makeup. But the best thing of last night to me was when she told me I was a really pretty girl. In fact she used gorgeous a couple of times. I know how hard it is for her and how much of a struggle it is to have her husband who is wanting to transition to a woman. She didn't take it well at first, and I don't know how we'll end up further along in my transition but to have her on my side right now this minute is helping me so much. It's even helping me to feel more confident as a woman and I'm closer now then ever to coming out to family and socially as well.

I've been married to my wife for 27 years, so I know how cool it is to get F'd by the woman you love.
Some people say I'm apathetic, but I don't care.

Nice play on words Shanna. My wife still calls me Dudeman. Thirty year habits are hard to break. It does disappoint me a little, ok a lot, but what ya going to do. We invented dirt together.

Wow, this went a totally different direction than I thought.  You know what they say though, a gutter mind is a terrible thing to waste...

But still...  great to hear!

I find it awesome when that happens, which now is pretty much every time we are out. Not entirely sure what my wife thinks.

I also like that they don't automatically  assume that  I'm paying for both of us.
