So, I'm post-op now, and I'm on a dilation regime. I now dilate twice per day for 30 minutes.
Today, I noticed that the dilator would'nt come out as readily as always...it got (mildly) stuck.
Can a dilator get stuck? What do I do then? Can the inverted *** come back out?
Not in a panic now, I assume I did not realy lube well enough. Also, I inserted it in phases (in, back a bit, a bit further, a bit back...you know) for the first time, I usually try to get it in in one (as smooth as posible) go...

I am pre-op. Afaik u can create a vacuum that makes it difficult to remove it but it shouldn't get stuck. Also using more lube as you said helps. Maybe try coughing if it feels stuck? People always say it shoots out

Or...giggling, that seems to help too...but...at my age ...
More lube, then. I use the one from teh "blue tube"...prescribed by my doctor...
I'll see him tomorrow...that'll be a question for him too...
Imagine, the horror of having to pee and the dil not wanting to move...
I hope you get your turn any time soon. Be aware...you'll (re)discover everything new...I have never been this busy with my body than the last five weeks...

Slightly twist the dilator left then right then back again. Removing it straight sometimes needs more force to get out. The slight wiggle will get it moving then extraction is easy.

Melissa: As far as the sticky dilator, I believe that maybe the problem is not suction, but might be lubrication drying/getting absorbed. This causes it to be like glue. The place where they often stick is near the opening, where the lube is exposed to air.
The slight twisting movement is possibly one way to solve it, as Rachel mentioned. I might also recommend keeping a small cup of water nearby for re-moistening as you dilate.

Drying out can be an issue and suction is also one too. I got a "lube shooter" (looks like a big syringe for lube) on Amazon to get lube deep in my vagina. Its helps if your vagina is tight and wipes a lot of the lube off before it can get inside. . .

And indeed, I use a sterile (insuline)syirnge (no needle) to suck up some lube and gently droop it in the vagina, so as to have some being "pushed ahead" into the vagina as the dilator enters. What I also noticed is gently pressing it a little deeper stretches the skin and loosens the dilator too...
It's scary...when it happens. So I do take care now to lube it really super good...as a tube gel costs about E11 here (some $12?) it's no biggie to gel it a bit more...
It's an all new thing for me...but I'm learning...
I do suspect the lube to be absorbed by the body. Which makes me think about pushing the irrigator deeper to rinse better...I rinse now as instructed, but I think of going in a bit deeper...at least once per week so as to do the weekly big clean

A sure way to remove is (almost always) is sneezing hard, or bearing down like you're trying to have a bowl movement.  Also with practice you should be able to clench the vaginal muscles to expel it.

I try NOT to sneeze, giggle or cough...as I'm somewhat scared these could hurt or - worse - cause a bleeding...
But, I may try it anyway. Any sudden "action" from the abdomen should do (coughing, sneezing, gigleing, stretching...)

Recently healed I totally agree.. and ya any sudden tearing motions, even long post op isn't probably the best idea.  If I'm having fun downstairs I just use the bearing down or muscle contractions vaginally to expel it.  In fact I think its actually good practice to do that, gets you used to expanding/contracting those muscles.

Speculums STILL have issues with my vaginal wall making it bleed/tear.. so definitely treat your vagina with kindness.

It's been a maddening ride. First the hair, then the skin, then the run to the operation, then the aftermath of the operation (possible extra shed of hair due to the operation) with a change in texture of my hair.
A stuck dilator is scary (and that is mildly put) due to the fact that one does not know what's going on...
I'm always super tense when it's time to take it out...and always glad I see a clean near-dry dilator...
The not knowing is the real scary bit...that's why I'm always glad to have an answer in this forum

I can't believe no one has given you the easy solution Melissa. You just have to push the ejection button. Just like in those fancy jet planes on tv. I would say, ask your doctor's office any questions you have so you don't stress. We don't always think of all the things we will run into post surgery, so they expect questions. I think a gentle twisting as Rachel says would help. The only resistance I have ever had moving in any direction was from too little lube. Relax, enjoy! I have known someone who actually named each dilator a different  guy name. Maybe it would help you relax to name yours and coax them out with some sweet talk. lol
