Hi guys! I'm really excited to be here!
I've known I was trans for most of my life, but I've only recently had enough courage to come out to my family and start transitioning. The whole process has been very scary but also incredibly rewarding and every step I take puts me closer to being the real me.
I haven't started hormones yet, but I have a doctors appointment next week and hopefully I won't have to wait much longer, lol.

Since coming out I've realized how incredibly blessed I am because my family has been very supportive and in fact I'm much closer to them now than I ever was before!

I'm really looking forward to getting to know everybody and make some friends! Just from browsing the boards I can already tell there are some really cool people here  ;)

Ah, welcome! I'm Arie, and it's nice to meet you!

So far your story sounds about identical to mine. I came out last week, and I had my appointment on Monday, and start HRT in a couple of weeks. I am already happier than anyone has seen me in years. I just joined here today, so I hope this place can help both of us.

I wish you all the best in your transition, and hope to see you around here [emoji173]️

Hi Angela,

I'm Laurie, the wandering waif of Susan's Place. Welcome to the family girl! Get yourself on in here and mingle. We want to know all about you as you get to know about us. I'm a 65yro mtf that's started transitioning with HRT about 16 months ago. I just returned home for 7 weeks of wandering around the USA meeting with others from this site. It was a wonderful time and I managed to become a girlfriend in the process. I am glad you decided to come in and join us and look forward to reading more about you and your story unfolds. Good luck with that doctor.

Hugs,
  Laurie

Nice to meet you Arie! It's really exciting looking forward to HRT isn't it? For me, I've been counting the days off my calendar!  ;D
I really know what you mean about being happier than ever before. I used to be depressed constantly, but now everyone tells me how much happier I seem! Transitioning is really scary to think about (I haven't gone very far yet), but I never, ever want to go back to the way I was before!

It's nice to meet you Laurie! I think it's really cool that you took a trip to meet the other people on this site. That sounds really amazing! I wish I was brave enough to just travel around like that meeting new people, but I'm really very shy.
I'd love to hear more about your trip sometime  :D

Hi Angela! I love reading how other people are as excited as I am to start HRT. I can't wait. See you around!!
Your NEEDS drive your WANTS which drive your ACTIONS. To not take action is to not meet your needs.

I am like an archaeological excavation - being uncovered piece by piece, slowly...methodically... until all of the real ME stands proud in the light of day.

Greetings Angela!

That is awesome how supportive your family is, but moreso to have the courage to tell 'em first! I think that's probably the right order of things, but not exactly what I'm doing~

Yeah, HRT is so exciting, right?! I'm not on it, I need to get a note from a therapist or whatnot first, but it's like your body actually supporting your mind, y'know?  Diet and exercise can only go so far without HRT.

And welcome to the community! *BIG HUGS*
Looking to make and keep friends! Spreading the love, now that I can truly love myself!
