I know Meg well as she is in charge of my hormones. She has been with the office a while and if there are any complications, I am sure she has full contact information for Dr Ley and Dr Meltzer. I suspect that is in charge of the medications your receiving and will continue to do that until you leave the hospital. Both doctors should be back on Monday though I don't know their schedule and you should be receiving daily visits. Right now, it's just lay back and wait until they allow you out of bed. Then you will discover how weak you are and it will take a few days to get some of your strength back.

As I said before, all of the staff is well trained and have helped several hundred patients if not far more. Trust them to do their job and the doctors will be in there to check on you.

Dr Meltzer is out of town as well as Dr Ley so Meg the NP just came and visited me. I'm trying to not have my feelings be hurt bc i just think it's a 2 minute phone call as a professional courtesy after paying for this ourselves with no insurance. My boyfriend is a dentist and he calls his patients after they get a filling or a root canal. I'm a hairstylist and always call my clients a few days after. It just seems like common sense after doing a vaginoplasty.
I had the opposite issue you are having. I was out and about when Dr. Ley called the day after surgery (was taking a shower) I missed most of her calls, did not take my phone with me. Meg and Debbie are amazing, Dr. Ley was really good on trying to make contact and when she did go out of town she did make it in late on Sunday to see me. I am not defending her just saying she does show and does care for her patients. She has called me time to time to check on progress. I should have been there this coming Monday for stage two, however, work is overwhelming and I don't want to loose substantial income and can go in December. Was in Scottsdale last year for consult on May 3rd, yikes it was HOT.
Enjoy Rehab Burgers! If you like Sushi there is an above average all you can eat restaurant not too far off.
Take care,
-M

So today is Day 3 of recovery. I feel like not a lot has been happening so I didn't have much to update on. Yesterday I had a nurse who was really helpful for what I needed to do that day. I got off the pcp which was such a huge relief. The pain pump didn't seem to control the pain as well and it gave me terrible nightmares and I couldn't regulate my temperature. Since switching to norco I feel so much better. My nurse Gina cleaned up my vagina which was extremely tender but made me not feel so icky. Meg the NP checked on me yesterday. She's a doll. I had a pretty good nights sleep last night without any ambien. This morning I got my drains taken out and was able to shower so I feel so good. The increased ambulation makes me extra sleepy so I tend to doze off a lot. It was amazing to see my vagina in the big mirror. I feel like my body finally looks like it's supposed to. Dr Ley came and visited me today which was nice. Maybe I'll meet the other girl who is a few days more along than me later. Pain is at about a 5 or lower today which is awesome. I'll check in soon:-) hugs

Hi Everyone! It's been a few days since I posted an update. Today is day 7 post op:-) yesterday morning Sara from Dr Ley's office came over to remove my stitches, packing, and drains. I was loopy from Ativan and norco and barely felt the stitch removal at all. The packing removal honestly made me laugh. It was like a cartoon. It seemed like it would never end, and it was so funny to me, this girl pulling and pulling and pulling yards upon yards of gauze out of my vagina. The drains were uncomfortable to pull out but it went quickly. Next she taught me dilation. I didn't have much trouble getting #1 in to 6" depth in a little less than a minute, then I started my timer. Best advice I can give is to buy some lavender oil and BREATHE. I've heard so many girls complain about it that I'm really trying to have a good attitude about it so I decided to use it as my time to think about what I'm grateful for and pray and meditate. Perhaps my tune will change when the dilator gets bigger or I'm over it but for now I'm going to do that:-) things are getting boring a little bit and I'm ready to go home. My bf and I decided it was unnecessary for him to fly back and get me as I'm fully capable and I would rather save the money for Botox or something. Super happy dilation is going well. The nurses are always so impressed with my healing so I am extremely grateful for that. I've been doing my last dilation late at like 1 am so that the time isn't so long so my morning one doesn't hurt too bad. So far i wouldn't say it's "painful" as uncomfortable. Starting to feel little surges of nerves in the skin tissue as things come back alive. Overall I think she (the puss puss) looks really good and I will only want minor tweaks when I go back for labiaplasty. Dr Ley is definitely incredibly skilled. We had a little heart to heart last night. I'm shy too so we both together are double shy but I think we had a moment:-) she is extremely down to earth and straightforward. I think she's had a long road just like the rest of us and she is honest. I love her and I am so happy she is the one to have done my surgery. That's all for tonight. Xo Serena

PS I do not recommend watching the dilation video in the room. That pussy will traumatize you for life and make you so scared of what yours will look like when the stitches come out and you're opened up. The nurse is great at teaching you and all the floor nurses are versed in dilation. They definitely need a new video and I told Dr Ley the horrors of that vagina and she just laughed:-) MARK MY WORDS

I didn't study my bottom that closely after surgery because mostly all I wanted what that thing gone. I have seen a surgery the first week after surgery then over a year after surgery and there was a huge difference. Right after surgery there was so much swelling that the clitoris was out in the open. After a year, the clitoris was nested in a fold of flesh and stage 2 of the surgery would be minimal in order to gain the proper appearance. Until all the swelling is gone, be careful about judging a final surgery and remember that swelling may take months to go down.
