Hi gurls,

I am pre-everything and I am unemployed right now. I am full time for 1 week. It tooks me a lot of courage to go public but I have nothing to loose because everyone that were close to me didn't accepted and are now gone.  There are good days and other less good. What worries me the most is will I be able to find a job that accept MTF?  The question is: do you have any good or bad stories about finding a new job?

I couldn't resist attaching a picture with my new wig, hearrings and nose piercing but no makeup...

Oh wow you look like my brother in law who wore a wig. You have the exact same eyes!!
I think for being pre hrt you're doing just fine. Your face is already rounded, I don't see any masculine structure (usually jaw/chin) and your eyebrows are good!
Only thing is to try to use concealer to cover up a bit of the shadow

I have found several in the female role so I would think it would be possible for you as well. It might be a bit more difficult not only because your transgender but because your female. If you work in a profession where it's difficult to find employees, you will find it less difficult to find work so go out there and get that job.

Alot of it is confidence.. or monkey see/monkey do.  Girls learn that at the age of 5 onwards, to 'act' like a woman. You just have a bit of catching up to do  

As far as explaining m2f, ... don't? Unless you have to.  If you already have your name changed just roll with it on your new application.  When they ask you gender, mark the one you feel you are.  Most jobs only care about how you can improve their bottom line, they don't really care about personal issues.  IN fact if you can avoid personal issues at work, that's a good way to keep employment.  As opposed to making personal issue front & center in every interaction in their business. 

That's just my personal approach, not saying its right or wrong for anyone.  It has worked for me over the eons.

Sabrina, that pic is gorgeous girl. I am also pre-everything but not planning to come out to "the public" for awhile. So I really admire your bravery and Moxie.

For job stuff, if you have any skills to capitalize on that could be a big boost. I work retail and I got a job at a craft store's frame shop because of my art degree. The biggest thing is to show you want to work there. My boss always says they want people who want to work. So being passionate and talking on why you will be great at it is a good start.

A lot of time hiring comes down to gut feeling. There is no equation, just the boss deciding who they want to see everday for god knows how long. So if you can make a personal connection to show you have social chemistry and show you are competent than that is the biggest thing imho.

Thank you for all your great answer. I have to increase my self confidence before going to an interview. I am a computer and web site developer with a lot of experience. As a man I can find a job easily. I cannot change my name before I get SRS here so a long way to go since I am pre-everything.

I have a degree in art myself! The good thing about that is that if you have a lot of trouble with companies freelance is always an option. If you make a few new pieces for your portfolio, it will probably help you feel more confidant too. Creative fields are great because you always have the chance to impress them with your work.

I just wanted to congratulate you for your exceeding courage. Know that your family here will show you unconditional love and support throughout your journey. I'm sorry what happened to your real family but it sounds like that would happen at some point anyways. You are one tough cookie going out there in the real world searching for a job I'm glad your past is not hindering you in this. I am so impressed with your determination it's very inspiring to me. I wouldn't even considering going out job hunting pre everything because I feel cursed with this big masculine body that kept me in the closet until very recently, hats off to you. best of luck with your job-hunting be sure and let us know what you find as I'm sure you will be successful due to your determination in all you do.

Sabrina, another good idea may be to look into remote work. That has the structure of employment with the privacy of the home.

I say just be you. If someplace won't hire you because of who you are, you do not want to work there anyhow.

Show up dressed the way you expect to work and make no apologies.

FYI, Federal gov't agencies, especially USDA, are making a big push for inclusiveness. I work in a USDA office and I can show up dressed male one day, and female the next, and nobody much cares.

Thank you. Yes I know for the concealer I did just woke up on this picture. About concealer, what brand do you use because it is hard to hide beard on my side. Really eager to laser it off [emoji6]

You should try to go public in a place you go for the first time. My trick is to smile to everybody and most of the time they smile back and forget about you appearance. You look great by the way, you will pass for sure.

No one, where I work know that I was not born female, and its none of their business. My ID says female and I look and dress female so that is what I am..

I was planning to go the park sometime with my girlfriend in a skirt, maybe even a dress. Honestly, the hardest part right now is  my beard. I love my beard, but it does make me a little scared to present femme. I also have fairly hairy arms and legs. I am havent actually used a razor to shave in years, so its kind of a big project to shave myself to be skirt ready.

After a day with no shave my girlfriend started calling me her sandpaper princess xD

I use an epilator like Braun silk epil for my body. At first it hurts bad but after it is just maintenance. It takes a good week before hair shows up. For the beard there is no magic, shave every day until laser does its job.

I went to kryolan store before hrt for their paint sticks and the person that works there helped me get one. I used a really light stick and it covered my shadow and dark circles really well.
It is on the thick side though and can be a bit "cakey".
Since doing laser I use some foundation and loose powder.
It's best to go to a makeup counter/department and ask.
