I have often wondered as I'm sure many of you have how could I have this big masculine body when I think I'm female but I think I might have a possible explanation.
  I was born in 1961 when the drug d e s was used for high-risk pregnancies to prevent a miscarriage. My mom was almost 50 when I was born and might have been exposed to Des there's no way to know I asked my sisters but they didn't know and even some pregnant women didn't know what they were getting at that time. After doing a little research on d e s it presented a perfect explanation to my situation. I'm 6ft 2in about 170 lb and have large feet hands and a big nose but feel I have always had a female brain. When my mom was pregnant the blueprint for being male was already laid out but the brain is very complex and develops slowly and if she was exposed to d e s it would mean that testosterone was deprived to my brain and it developed female. this is a very tidy explanation for me possibly but it's irrelevant how I developed I'm here now and out of the closet. I just was wondering if anyone else had these feelings.

It sounds very likely.  There are quite a few of us who either know for sure or suspect that DES was used by our mothers during pregnancy in that era.  I am one of those.  Unfortunately, my mother is no longer alive, so I can't ask her.

It is comforting to have an explanation, even though the explanation itself makes no material difference in our lives now.  The comfort, I think, comes from knowing that there was a physical cause, and that this was not some weird choice we made.

For me, I have filed this information under "interesting trivia", and don't think about it any more.
