yay! So I came out on social media yesterday and it went great! nothing but love and support so far and on both facebook and instagram these were my most liked posts ever! 59 likes so far on IG and 209 on facebook! I already have 203 friends on my new fb page too! this is so exciting!

I have some bad news on the apartment though. a couple nights ago I tried to get my new couch delivered. The movers got it to the top of the stairs and there was no way to get it in any further, there was no room to stand it up and swing it around. So it went back on the truck and went back to the store and I'm out $85 on the delivery fee and I'm stuck with $420 in store credit. I went in yesterday and the selection wasn't very good but I picked out a love seat that I'm hoping will fit. I'm not taking a chance on delivery again though, I'm going to find someone with a truck to help me

Maddie:   Well, without alcohol all of those events are turning out well, and without alcohol you can remember all the details too.

yay, an update already!

I'll start with the biggest news first...  I got the letter from my doctor today to get my gender marker changed at the dmv!! I'm gunna go Monday if I can't make it down there tomorrow. This is so exciting!

I went shopping yesterday too. I got some new workout clothes, a pair of shorts, a casual dress (it's pretty short, I think I'm gunna have to wear it with leggings so it might not get worn until fall), I got a black cardigan (I was having trouble finding one I liked all winter, NOW i get one as it gets warm lol), and I got some belts. I was going to go jog as a woman this morning but I ran into an issue. I was woken up at 530 this morning by my carbon monoxide alarm! I thought it must have been malfunctioning, I had the furnace off and 3 windows open, but I still got dressed as quick as I could and got out. I was meeting my dad later so I initially dressed as a male, this was my first time seeing him since I came out and I didn't think he would be ready to see me as a girl yet. I did grab my new jogging clothes though but I realized I forgot my sports bra and some panties, so I just jogged as a male, boo! it turns out the detector was broke, the movers hit it the other day and it fell so that must have damaged it. I got a new one today and it works fine and it hasn't gone off after the initial test.

So my talk with my dad went well. My step mom did cry at one point though when she said it would be really hard to use the name Maddie. My dad seemed bummed but it sounded like in time he will be ok, he was concerned with my safety and also my financial stability since I'm looking for a new job. I've worked construction with him for the last 7 years and he said he's still down to work with me and that this one company actually wants me on a job sometime next month. If I can't find a new job by then I guess I will take it just to stay busy and earn money, but I really would like something else. He also said he would help me with my couch issue that I mentioned the other day, I think he and I are going to pick it up tomorrow. We went to the dog park too and that was nice, it was my first time there and I made a lot of new fur friends! it was so cute!

I talked to my mom last night too, she called me. She said she hasn't told anyone about my transition yet because she's still trying to process it herself. A couple months ago she took some of my old male clothes to a consignment shop for me and she said shes gunna go back so I asked her if she could take some more stuff there for me and she said yes, which is great because I have a lot of old women's clothes to get rid of, and now I can make a little money off them!

I hope everyone has a great weekend, maybe I'll post some pics here soon from my friend's bridal shower on saturday!

Maddie. So glad to see your progress. My fire alarm goes off when someone literally lights a match.  What you got against old lady clothes? :D  One thing that I am learning is coding. I am much older than you and if I can do it, anyone can do it. And it pays pretty good. There are many free tutorials on the web and some training that issues certificates for completion.  Here are some popular languages C++, Python, Java, Ruby, Pearl, PHP which this site uses, as well as HTTP. You can learn while still working and the chances of being hired regardless of gender are greater for white collar jobs. You may even find you can do some of this from home. Start out simply using Kahn Academy to learn the basics. Then step up to the more complex programming like on Udemy, Lynda's, Also there are Php.org, W3C.org, Python.org, tutorials straight from the developers.

The average salary for a Computer Programmer is $69,362 per year in the United States. Salary estimates are based on 32,112 salaries submitted anonymously to Indeed by Computer Programmer employees, users, and collected from past and present job advertisements on Indeed in the past 36 months. The typical tenure for a Computer Programmer is 2-4 year

Hugs sweetie

yay, another update already! I'll start off with part 2 of yesterday...

so a couple hours after my last update my dad and I went and picked up my new couch. He met me at the store in his truck and he and I took it up to my apartment. It was raining pretty hard too, so that stunk, but yay I finally have a couch! and more importantly I have a dad who loves  me! The whole time we were moving the couch he kept calling me by my  male name, which I'm letting slide for now since this is hard on him, but then later that night he sent me a text and asked how I was doing and he called me Mattie  :D :D close enough, at least he's trying!

so today... I spent the whole day as Maddie and I got a lot done! First I went to the DMV and get my new license! I am officially a woman on paper! I still haven't changed my name yet, and it's going to be a while, but this is a great step for me! I took a new picture and it wasn't flattering, but drivers licenses never are lol.

So after that I went to the mall. I used the women's room by myself for the first time! It was my 3rd time using one, but the other 2 times I had a friend with me. I got some clothes I liked, Penney's had a great sale today and I got 2 bras, 5 pairs of underwear, some running shorts, a nice top, and a pair of jean shorts. and 2 necklaces and a pair of sunglasses! I saw a dress I liked too, I may go back and try it on, it something I could wear to my friend's wedding next month! I went to a couple other stores and struck out but I did get a necklace and a nice maxi dress at Charlotte Russe. And I bought a clock for my apartment :)

After that I went grocery shopping and the place was packed but I wasn't nervous at all. Coming out has been amazing for my confidence lol.

After I went shopping I went back to my apartment and unloaded my car. Then I took off my makeup and decided to go for a jog! I put on my new shorts and a top and some sunnies and I went jogging for the first time as maddie! I went somewhere I knew would be secluded and it was a beautiful area! overall I've had a great day! <3
