I have been on some estrogen for like 5 weeks now. Ive noticed some changes and one more recent one is weight loss! I have lost like 7 or 8 pounds in the last weeks and I also am losing gradually my belly weight. I know some is walking, drinking more water and eating smaller amounts but I could never get my weight down easily. I weight at 148 right now and 5 weeks ago I was at about a 155 or more. Unlike before where it was hard to lose weight, now it's hard to gain it no matter how much I eat.

Im guessing my muscle mass is going down some which is the cause of the weight loss!

well I heard its does happen, just try not to get to low (not sure where the 'ideal' chart level for you is but aim in that range) if it gets too bad one way or the other (gain or loss) please dont wait to get seen. But a little gain or loss should be ok.
If life is too short for what ifs, than way do they always strike at the worse times.

In addition to the physical effects of Estradiol, I have noticed that just by taking Estradiol, my dysphoria was much less. My depression due to my dysphoria was also less.

Before I started HRT, I was eating a lot of comfort food to counter the depression. With the depression almost gone, I found it easy to change my eating habits. I wasn't running to the refrigerator all the time anymore.

THIS.

Estradiol doesn't support weight loss. If not careful about lifestyle and one's health, one of its most common side effects is weight gain. Loss of muscle mass, a healthy diet, and regular exercise contribute to MtF weight loss. Muscle tissue is denser and so heavier than fat deposits. I'm slender, but I have fat in places women have it that I didn't have before. I've also lost some masculine muscle mass, which is the idea. After starting hormone therapy, watching my body feminize has been amazing.

I must be a odd ball. Sense I started HRT I have lost 12 pounds and I eat a LOT more than I did. I'm fighting like crazy to put on a few pounds because I'm too skinny. Its took over 2 and a half weeks for me to get 2 pounds back.

I'm struggling with my weight. I was about 300lbs as of December 2016, then in Feb 2017 I decided to start losing weight because I wanted to transition, so everything went well with that and I got down to about 215 by my birthday in mid-July, which is the day I started HRT. The first week I had lost a few pounds, but then my 2nd week on HRT I actually gained a couple pounds. then the following week I lost weight again. Then I plateaued for 3 weeks without changing any of my diet or exercise habits. I got down to 200lbs in September and then the weight started coming off a lot slower, I got down to 191 in December and since then I've been back and forth, I'd gain a couple lbs and lose a couple, I would usually bounce around between 193 and 197 but as of my last weigh in I was at 200 again and I'm pretty bummed about that. I've gained 9lbs since December and it needs to go. This winter was rough on me because I was working an hour and a half out of town so I had really long days and no time or energy to keep my eating habits good, and I couldn't work out after work because it was too cold outside and I didn't want to buy a gym membership. I've been jogging a few times this year but it's been a couple weeks now since I've gone, the last time I went my knee started to hurt so I just stopped and walked. It's harder for me to find the energy to work out now, I need to be more strict with myself.

I havent been losing weight, my appetite has remained the same regardless of the HRT so I guess in my situation HRT won't contribute to my weight loss, probably doesn't help I have no scales to check my weight in the house but still my stomach is still prominent as it was prior to HRT so I guess at least I'm one of the people which HRT doesn't help in that way.
Life is fleeting, so may as well kick back and pull up a chair.
