I've been wearing female clothing to work for a while, but today was the first time I wore makeup to work. It felt great. I got compliments from the girls I work with, and even a couple of the guys. I also set a  date today to get my trachea shave done. It's been a great day!

Crossed a big milestone in my weight loss, which I'm holding as a prelude to anything else.

I started at 450+ and I'm down to 298, over 150 pounds lost. My first goal is 200, and my ultimate goal is 150.

I really feel like I can do this.

OMG. That is truly amazing. Well done and you are an inspiration to what can be done with determination

Started laser and got four moles removed from my face. Got in to a new doctor that is a transgender specialist and brand new practice. One day to see her as opposed to the original 30 month wait I was looking at.

Oh Kendra - to me it's the worst...sticking one's self.  LOL  Over the years I've taught a lot of people to give themselves injections.  But doing it to myself is a no-go mission impossible.

Wow, I would wake up on the floor with a syringe sticking out of my...bottom!  If you can do it, more power sista!

Lol have done Progynon Depot in the past and over the course of repeated alternate left/right buttocks injections have found the site muscles wear down, tend to "leak". Never done arm or thigh each requires different lenght "point".

Since been maintaining with Estrofem tabs recently changed to Progynova tabs (a 'bio-estradiol precursive'?) they're less expensive and anxious to see if better, more noticeable results?

Am curious how many rely on insurance for transition expenses as opposed to self-finance, paying "cash"? "Ex" has been pushing for me to go to a proper trans/gay hairdresser - as opposed to standard androgynous 'ponytail' - unsure if ready for THAT!

lol So my most 'recent step' would be her actually pushing/encouraging ?

Hi Marcie,

I have finally taken an important step or part of one. I turned in the forms and paid the money required by the county to get a name change. I'm waiting for a court date. Prior to that I guess it was going full time and that was almost a year ago on my first road trip.  Some things just take some time to do.

Hugs,
  Laurie

Laurie - I cannot wait to do that, I think it is down the road aways for me, but you never know!!  Love and hugs!!!

I paid for most of mine out of pocket, but only because my previous employer excluded trans care from our insurance.  My new employer pays for everything, so I am all in with insurance paying the way.  I just got them to cover electrolysis and got pre-authorized for FFS, for example.
Some people say I'm apathetic, but I don't care.

My insurance offered through my company has been covering the medical portion without issue.  I have already discussed surgeries with my advocate and they appear to be covered as well.  I have been paying out of pocket for my therapists though as I really do view them as an asset and I want them to be right for me.

I love and hate electrolysis.  I'm on my second clearing of the upper lip, oooh the pain, but so great when it's gone!  I think I'm on hour 60 around now.

Bari Jo
Congratulations. I didn't find facial electrolysis painful at all. 🤔 I have only been doing an hour at a time, but no numbing cream or anything required. Are they doing blended?

Health care card came in today name and gender changed. Started electrolysis today and did every single black hair on my face. Pain wasn't overly bad even at max until the lip around the nose. Then the tears flowed. Blacks make up about 40% of my face hair

Ive been starting my transition for 3 months. I just came out at work because someone told me to go nurse in Qatar/saudi Because you can earn loads. I responded with I cant i would get stoned to death I'm trans. He responded with giving me details of some trans person he knows. A odd but ultimately uplifting reaction.

My most recent step is coming here to this website, before that I began voice feminization, shaving everywhere but my head and growing out my hair, although it is still very short. Next step is finding someone who can help me get started on HRT.  :)
1994 - Born
~1998 - Realized something is wrong
~1998-2011 - Fought and repressed feelings, just trying to be "normal"
~2011 - Discovered the name for my feelings
~2011-2018 - Fought and repressed my feelings even more
July 2018 - Born again, after fighting depression, anxiety and meeting death itself
September 14 2018 - First HRT injection! :)

Harley, I am about the same point time wise and Nanci will be getting to my lip soon. She has removed a few hairs from the lip but the nerves in the area also seem to be connected to the teeth and that is where most my pain manifests. Unfortunately she can't do a full zap on me because of my myriad of medical problems.
