The day I started HRT is very important to me. Almost as important as the day I came out to my wife.

Good luck with it, and as always, enjoy the ride! X

Thank you Megan - so looking forward to it xx

Congratulations, Elizabeth!  We tend to accumulate several rebirthdays in this journey, but starting HRT is one of the biggest.  As Megan said, enjoy the ride!

Thank you Kathy - it is a day I will treasure and remember for sure.  It has affected me more than I expected, and so positive and validating

Thank you Robyn - yes, it has been so so important to me, much more than I expected.  I had not imagined how wonderful and liberating it would feel

Suddenly after starting HRT today, and the emotional validation and sense of liberation, living as a woman seems much closer and probably unavoidable in the near future

Hello Elizabeth

I see from your Introduction you are a "late transitioner" just like me as I started at 62.

Like you I will always cherish my first day of HRT (8Feb) just like other significant dates on my journey. Most of us feel just like you not only euphoric to have started but completely certain it is the right decision and wishing to take further steps.

Congratulations and I wish you every happiness on your journey.

Hugs

Pamela

Thank you Pamela - I have found starting HRT overwhelmingly more emotional and positive than I had expected.  I thought it was something I could try out and see how it went.   I now cannot imagine being without it and look forward so much to the body changes and breast development that are coming.

With each step I have taken I have been very fearful, but once you take the step it just increases your urge to move on to the next one.

I cannot really imagine the future now other than living full-time as a woman.

With love

Elizabeth

Beginning to get some small signs of change today - maybe too early to be HRT but going in the right direction.

I have a deep sense of comfort and relief today, physical tensions falling away.

My skin in my hands and face is beginning to feel a little softer.

My sense of smell seems a little more sensitive, picking up things  I would have missed before

And tonight first twinges of pain behind my left breast

More widespread and persistent breast pain and discomfort last night and this morning.

Pain and discomfort in both breasts, more in the left than the right, right behind the nipple and across the breast area.

Early days obviously but looks like the very early signs of breast development - encouraging!

It all depends on the person, ı've been on HRT for 18 months and I can't fill an A cup, I have no hips or butt and my body hair.is the same as before. I'm 28 btw

Yeah - I am in my 60's so don't expect a lot of change!!

Breast tightness and discomfort is back again now so hopefully at least the beginnings of some sort of change

Love Elizabeth xx

Are you sure your estrogen and testosterone levels are where they need to be? Especially to see results.

Hi Allison, well my testo is below female range but estrogen is at the levels of a menopausic woman even when I'm taking the highest dose my doctor prescribed me <dosage removed by moderator> estradiol and I'm taking the last weeks <dosage removed by moderator> to see if there are some changes. At least I'm glad my testo is low but would be nice to feminize.

Just to let you know that although dosages not permitted, you are allowed if you wish to show details of your Blood Test results of Estrogen and Testosterone but only if you wish of course.

Welcome to Susans and see you around the site.

Hugs

Well thats good that testosterone is supressed and low enough. Are you on pills or injections? I've been hearing that can make a difference for some people. I hope you find what works for you.

I wanted injectables, they are more feminizing but unfortunately they aren't available in Europe so I have to stay with pills

First observable breast changes yesterday - Day 6

Felt first twinges in breasts (on left side) on Day 2 - and they have been aching on and off since then.

Now nipples are hard and standing out, with the first traces of soft tissue growth on the left side

Did not expect this so soon I must say but such a lovely and encouraging development

Bought a bralet yesterday.  Probably need to wear it now or a padded bra when I go out for comfort and to disguise them

Four weeks of HRT now - main effect is still breast development.  Nipples are hard and protruding most of the time, and distinct breast tissue now on the right, left still relatively flat

The other big change is emotional - I am blown away by how much I now feel feminine emotions I have never felt before, and how in touch with myself as a woman I am.  I cry quite a lot, and feel physical sensation and pleasure right through my body in a way I have never experienced.

I  have also found breast development a beautiful and emotional experience in a way I would not have expected.

My skin and hair are definitely softer, hair on my head is thicker and growing faster.

My face is beginning to soften, and become rounder and fleshier around the cheeks and jaw, and under the eyes.

And my sense of smell is much more sensitive.

I am so thrilled - I now feel a woman in a way I could not have imagined possible
