How can I look more male?

Just Mandy

You do have some muscle on you Kris, looking good! I would not have guessed that from your
first picture. The last pictures are much more masculine looking.

Nice job on not smiling :)

Something sleeps deep within us
hidden and growing until we awaken as ourselves.

Hehehehe, thank you very much, Amanda! :D I was in Army JROTC for a year, so we had to do up to 500 push-ups in one class period. I LOVED that class!! I miss it so badly now that I've graduated. :( But I especially loved it because I was accepted into the group of guys as if I were one, and I was the happiest that I've ever been in my life. I remember that my one friend belched at the lunch table, followed by one of my own (and mine was louder ;)), and we started cracking up. I joked about offending the girls behind us, and he said, "That's all right; we're guys." He got this confused look on his face, then said, "Well, er... I am..." I wanted to be like, "You were right the first time!" but of course I didn't.

As far as your hair...

Switch your hairdresser.  They're used to cutting your hair as female.  Also, don't go to the ultra-hip queer shop in town- you'll get a dyke cut.  Ideally you should check out a local barber shop.  If they're treating you strangely, tell them you've been cast in a play in a male role.  You need them to help you look as masculine as possible.

I am going to be posting some pics of myself in another post, with this same question.

But one thing I did do, earlier in my transition, was to get a big bulky watch from Walmart for 15 dollars.
It had all sorts of things on it I never use, a compass, and who knows what else.  But it looked really "male".

Unfortunately it got stolen when I was at the chiropractor -- people always remarked on it!  I got another, but it's not as helpful.

The bulky watch seemed to help people see me as a bit more male, I experimented wearing it, and not, and it did really help, though it was heavy to wear :)

I, too, had large breasts, and tried a hundred things with binding.  Mostly what helped was to use 2 - 3 methods of binding, with several shirts (I was easily a DDD, so that was kinda the issue, not how I was binding).  It was hot, too many layers, but it made things look better.

I am now recovering from surgery, still not able to go really much without a binder, so waitingfor that day.....
I wish I had gotten the surgery sooner, I would suggest trying to get it soon, if you are clear, and what you want to do is pass.  It seems to make a difference, already, even out a bit in public with the binder on.

Straightening the base of your sideburns will help, right away.

I found buying male shoes early on, and also "cargo pants" in the men's dept., where there are lots of pockets, and wearing them low, may have disguised a bit more of my hips, too.

Sweatshirts were a good top layer, once I was bound, sometimes with a corduroy button down, that I left open most of the way (cause of the heat!) and just buttoned it right around my chest area.

Good luck.

I was "male" with even higher cheekbones than yours, much higher really and
this is actually a very attractive trait in males.

There's very little difference between an attractive male and female, look
at the male runway models.

Put some muscles on you, use loose fitting clothes (which won't work really
good until those muscles are there to support them).

The eyebrows could be difficult if you've been plucking them for awhile, anyway,
let them grow in and see what you've got.

I think that the proper facial hair, you'd look very attractive right now. Look
at the actor in Bend in like Beckham and "the Tudors", and Match Point,
he's got a "femme" face yet women find him very very attractive.

In hollywood, most leading men have boyish faces which is what you've got,
that's why they always have a bit of facial hair on them :-). Look at Brad Pitt,
he's got less of a jawline than his wife HAHA.

Thanks, guys. ;D

I cut my sideburns myself today, and they don't look half bad. Also, I found some of my brothert's clothes, and I put those on today just to feel what it was like (nobody's home, LoL). I experimented with makeup tricks, too, and I'll be posting those in another thread here.

Thanks for all the advice! I can't wait until I save up some money to go buy some new pants, shoes, watch, etc.
