Sorry. I can't take anything seriously that opens with the following:
"it is time to consider the question that pops up more than mushrooms after a spring rain"
Who writes this crap?
Sorry. Bad writing just gets on my nerves.
And here's another:
"The concept of marriage necessarily includes the idea of a man and woman committing themselves to each other. Any other arrangement contradicts the basic definition."
What about all the miserable heterosexual couples that get divorced after years of misery? How committed are they to each other?
"some lesbian couples want to have children through anonymous sperm donations, which means some children will be created purposely without knowledge of one of their biological parents."
Um, maybe people shouldn't be donating their sperm then?
"The effects we have described above will have strong repercussions on a society that is already having trouble maintaining wholesome stability in marriage and family life. If marriage and families are the foundation for a healthy society, introducing more uncertainty and instability in them will be bad for society."
Oh, I can't even go on. Blaming gay marriages for the failures and shortcomings of heterosexual marriages is like yelling at the dog because the cat peed on the floor. If heterosexual marital stability is an issue, then maybe people should be required to do more for pre-marital counseling than just making sure the priest knows their names.
