I spent a little bit of time looking at feminine names. I wanted to stick with my initials "RJ". I had a short list, and most of them had "Rose" in them. I looked into the meaning of the names and one of them stuck out to me. Rosabelle, which translated basically means beautiful rose, at least according to the website. Growing up my favorite flower was a rose, and I have grown them over the years.
It feels like the powers are telling me to stick with it. In a way my name would almost mean "bountiful beautiful roses" or "beautiful rose jewel". Have any of you stuck with the first name you came across? Should I try different names before sticking with something? I will try it out over time to see how I really feel, but so far I love it.

I actually stuck with the first name I came across but I chose to stick with it because I felt it was cute smart and slightly exotic it also really described me it is Arianna I love it personally. The only advice I can give you is make sure you love it lol.

If you can't accept yourself,  how can you expect others to accept you?

KathyLauren

I stuck with the first name I thought of.  I wanted to keep my inititials the same and have a connection between my old and new names.  My old name was Keith Lawrence, and Kathy Lauren is pretty close.  (There is a feminine version of Keith - Keitha - but ewwww!  Too close for comfort.)

Also, I didn't want an exotic uber-feminine name.  Kathy has exactly the girl next door feeling that I wanted.  My wife had all sorts of "helpful" suggestions, but none of them felt like me.

I first thought about what name to use decades ago, I don't remember when exactly.  It was one of those idle "what if I was a girl?" thoughts, that I didn't think meant anything at the time.  Kathy was what I came up with then, and I guess it stuck.

TonyaW

I had used a couple different names for my female self when I thought it was just cross dressing but none of them had any special significance.

When it got real, I had to come up with something new.  I had no reason to change my last name and keeping initials same would help with some areas of transition.  I looked through a list of girls names that started with T for something that I liked, that wasn't too unusual and that I didn't know anyone by that name.

Tonya was the one I picked and liked that spelling better than Tanya and I didn't see the Tania spelling in my list.

Took me a while to settle on the middle name but I came up with Janelle. Doing all my legal name changing stuff, one of my credit cards came back with my full middle name on it and I really liked the way that Tonya Janelle looks and sounds when I put them together so have been doing that more.

Rachel

My first name I tried was Cynthia then I changed it to Rachel. I love the name Rachel and am glad I switched early on. It would have been a real pain switching all the legal documents if I did not switch early on. Also, I was out to just a few people as Cynthia, therapist, HR boss and a few co-workers. It is a difficult thing for people to adjust to.

I never get my dead name any more.
