It doesn't matter if she has a masculine voice - Margaret Jones has lived as a woman for four years and says people in the western suburbs have accepted her decision.
Margaret, who lives in Nedlands, took hormones and changed her lifestyle to include women's clothes, make-up and jewellery after years of living as a man.
She has identified herself as "androgyne" - that is, she does not think of herself as exclusively male or female.
