I'm currently not out to my family. This is due to their transphobia and past actions that have made it unsafe for me to come out. I'm going to college in another state in 2 weeks and she co-signed the loan for this year ($10,000) - I HAVE to come out soon because I'm planning on going on T when I'm up At college. Inevitably I'll have to come out and I know she won't be co-sign anymore loans after that. How do I afford to keep going to this college without a co-signer?? Is it possible to build  enough credit in a year to take out my own student loan? I'm so hopeless idk what to do

@samsonavery
The short answer is a possible yes, in ONE YEAR you can establish good credit by paying YOUR bills on time and paying off your credit card each and every month... YOU will want to use your credit and show that you are responsible in handling the monthly bills that you get.   This all assumes that you are 18 years old or older, have credit account that you established and regular bills coming in (in your name) that you pay on time and very important that you have some kind of full time or part time job so you can show that you are gainfully employed.    You can't count the bills that are not in your name that your parents pay for you...  nor does using their credit card account and paying that bill.
In short, you have to show and establish that you handle your personal credit responsibly.
Good luck to you..
