Does anyone have experience or know anything about Dr Paul Gerarchi or Dr Caithan Reddy? Both of which are in Australia. Or does anyone know of any other surgeons in Australia who have experience with FFS?

I think I will organise a face to face consultation with them but I wanted to ask on here first. It's probably a longshot, I know FFS in Australia is rare.

With my SRS booked I'm now doing more research into FFS and if I can avoid leaving the country that would be great. I have thought I found the right surgeon for me a few times now, but it's such a daunting and expensive process that I want to explore all options.

SRS: Dr Suporn, January 2019 (Thailand)
VFS: Dr Thomas, May 2019 (USA)

I've tried to find out before about FFS here, but there's so little information available that I'd not risk it even if I did find a surgeon. I like to have a large number of reviews to reduce the risk.

Facial Team are visiting Australia in November for consults.

Hi,

I know a bit about Dr. Gerarchi from two people I met in Victoria a few years ago. One had her nose done and was over the moon and the other had a facelift that resulted in some weird muscle damage. Insofar as she smiles and her eye squints up funny from it. She ended up going to some other doctor in SA who corrected it.

In terms of Dr Chaithan Reddy I have never heard of them sorry.

A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting

Thanks guys! Not convinced at all. I think I'll stick with more experienced FFS surgeons overseas.

Who have you got in mind?

I researched a ton of people all over the place and complied a list for what I require. That said I am getting select things from certain doctors who have demonstrated they are good with certain aspects.

Dr. Lazaro Cardenas in a week for:

  • My nose as his wife does this with him and she is very skilled
  • Forehead as I only require my hairline advanced thankfully

Dr. Hyung Tae Kim of the Yeson Voice Center in 2019.

  • voice

Dr Russell Knudsen

  • 1500 hair transplant to cover any scars from hairline advance in 2019

I haven't been able to see enough before and afters of Cardenas' work for me to be convinced to go all the way to Mexico.
I have my SRS and trachea shave booked with Dr Suporn, and I'm thinking to go to Dr Harrison Lee for lip lift, rhinoplasty, forehead work. Also going to Yeson for my voice.

I don't know about hair transplants, will see if it's necessary once my face work is healed.

There's quite a few negative reviews for Dr Harrinson Lee on Internet. I've only found one negative review for Facial Team (here on susans). Dr Kim of Yeson is doing free consults in Sydney/Melbourne in November 18/19 (with Facial Team and Marci Bowers)

Are you referring to shoko's review? Their complaint was exactly what I was fearing about FT. I'm concerned with the coronal incision (raises hairline), rhinoplasties, and scarring from lip lift.
I haven't seen anything to discourage me from going to Harrison Lee yet.

Yes, that one. The important point is that its the only bad review I've ever found on them, and that's an unusually low rate. All surgeons have complaints, but some have a lot more/less than others.

There are actually a few surgeons in Australia that do FFS apart from the ones you mentioned.

I had a consult with Dr Gerrachi but didn't like his vibe.

Dr Jeremy Hunt in Sydney - I've had a consultation with him and he has before and after photos which look great. I'm having surgery with him early next year.

Professor David David in Adelaide - I've consulted with him he's done many ffs surgeries

Dr Mahyar Amjadi in Sydney does FFS and has all the procedures he performs on his website http://luxeclinic.com.au/procedures/surgical/gender-reassignment/male-to-female/

If you're thinking of getting ffs done here in Aus it's best to get private health insurance that covers you for non-cosmetic plastic surgery which will make things a lot cheaper.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm actually about to take out my own private health insurance as I can't stay on my parents policy anymore. Can you recommend a provider? I was just going to stay with HCF because that's what I was on and that way there's no waiting periods.

My pleasure darling  :)

Each procedure eg: forehead, chin, jaw etc has an item number which the surgeon will give you in the quote so it's best to find out from your insurance provider if they cover you for those item numbers. How it works is you will still have to pay the surgeon fee for each procedure but your private health insurance should be able to cover the hospital fees which basically make up half the cost of the surgery.
